1.     INTRODUCTION:

The increasing demand of e-commerce for the World Wide Web attracts attention not only in large software enterprises but also in small and medium-scale organizations. With the growth of the Internet and increase in the persuasiveness of multimedia, there are new possibilities for advertising and e-commerce. To improve the acceptance of customers it seems to be helpful to add individual components like online audio/video conferencing  & chatting to improve users interaction.

JSN is a web-based e-commerce application. The basic purpose of developing this software is to build a common web site where both organization and job applicant will communicate in an easy way. Various multimedia features will be provided like audio/video conferencing and text based chatting.

Both applicants and organizations register for placing their CV’s and for seeking an employee, respectively.

The purpose of this project is to provide a platform for the organization and the job seeker where they can virtually interact with each other. The use of multimedia technology will facilitate the user (organization/job seeker) to get the information with certain ease and concentration. The primary and utmost phase of the software is to make a certain engine or system which enables the user to interact with other user via audio/video facility, white boards (E-Whiteboards) and chatting session.

In order to provide the user to register via the Internet, the transaction must be made secured, so the user feels secure to pass information to the system. The system will also make sure the hackers could not tap into the system and ruin the informational database.

2. BACKGROUND/RESEARCH ISSUES:

This project did not require a lot of research work. However in order to accomplish the requirement of this project, we learned a lot of technologies.

The technologies we learned, include

1) Java Servlets.

2) Java Beans.

3) Java Thread programming.

4) Java Script (Client/server)

5) Web Page designing.

6) Java Mail API

As described in goals of the project, audio & video conferencing was our major objective. So in order to achieve it, we have done a lot of research work. We explored "Java Media Frame Work (JMF)" in order to achieve this task.

3. REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATION

3.1 Purpose

The basic purpose of developing this software is to build a platform where both organization and job applicant will communicate in an easy way. Various multimedia features will be provided like audio/video conferencing and text based chatting.

3.1 Scope

The system scope encompasses a system that will allow for a variety of users to submit their information by a registration process. The scope of system is to provide all basic functionalities needed for the interaction of job-applicants with concerned companies/organizations. Scope will be limited to job seeking persons and organizations looking for employees.

Though any of the users will be able to view the virtual meeting schedule, but only the organizations will be allowed to schedule the meetings. The system will consist of a web client-side front-end for the interface that will connect to a Java Servlet that will be responsible for searching the back-end database and making "intelligent" decisions.

4. CONCLUSION:

Present era is a communication era, and web has revolutionalized this world of communication. Until few years this information super highway (Web), was only meant for static (or small scale) information. It was a flat file system used for sharing research materials and documents. That was the time when scientists and e-researchers started to look ahead in the future.

Companies are no longer satisfied with presenting a few web pages to potential e-customers. They want customers to interact with live data, fresh from corporate database and they want you to provide that capability.

Database vendors have watched this revolution carefully, and started their research work to come up with a more appropriate solution to the problem. Different organizations came up with different approaches. Although all the approaches are based on the same technique but they differ in aspects like flexibility in connectivity, security, efficiency and easy to use etc.

5. Future prospects

Since all the strategies, tools and web technologies related to the dynamic data connection are part of recent development. Therefore it’s a major field of interest for researchers and database professionals. Although the present market do offer variety of tools and web servers, which are efficient and reliable but they are not perfect.

Market trend is to provide as easy connectivity as possible. One another important concern is the security. Different vendors are anxious to get their product into the market as early as possible, with greater flexibility, security and easy connectivity.

So in future, we should expect a great deal of enhancements in web enabled database technology.
