Lure Coursing
- Strips of white plastic is used to simulate a rabbit
- Plastic is attached to a line on a series of pulleys to simulate a zigzag
path
- Sighthounds chase the "rabbit"
- Dogs are judged on speed, enthusiasm, agility, accuracy and endurance.

Types of Hunting
Foxhunting/ Harrier Packs
- A pack of foxhounds/ Harriers
(25-40 dogs) are guided by the huntsman on horseback
- Whippers-in are assistants to
the huntsman and are incharge of keeping the pack together
Beagle Packs

- Beagles are trained to hunt
hares
- Beagle packs are followed on
foot, no horses are involved
Bassett Packs
- Same as beagle packs- but much
slower
