Yen begins her day by watching finance programmes on the television in order to grasp hold of the daily market movements before she traveled to her office. At her office, Yen would surf the net for other finance related news, read the papers for main headlines and the scripts and make any neccessary amendments to prepare for her programmes.
By 10am, she would traveled to the 10th floor for her make-up, print the final scripts for the programmes and having morning breakfast or light snacks. From 12.40pm to 1.30pm, she would traveled to the studio at the 11th floor to host the "Instant Stock Market Access". Between 1.30pm and 2.30pm, she would have her lunch. After she would review her scripts and make any amendments or would be in the studio recording the programmes she host. By 4.30pm she would start her make-up in preparation of another programme recording "Money Frontier'. Between 6.30pm and 7.00pm, she would review her programmes and record her work journal. After which she would have her dinner and by 8.00pm she would return to her office to finish any outstanding work.

Back in student days at the Chinese Cultural University, Yen participated in several extracurricular activities in the Varsity. She was a member of the photography society and has won the second in the news anchoring competition. In her second year, she become the person-in-charge for a university magazine. The third year, she became the Editor for a cultural magazine "Culture Fornightly" and the main actress for a sketch organised by the News Group. Upon graduation she went in the direction of her career aspiration and work as a reporter. After a few years, her effort has been recognised and she progressed to anchoring position. She joined Zhong Tian and became one of the top anchors. In 2001, she decided to further her studies, to pursue a Masters from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdoms. Upon graduation, she return to Zhong Tian and was the anchor for "Sports Empire" which was one of the programmes that had a tremendous followings of sport fans. In 2004, her career reached another height where she became the Editor and the Anchor for various Finance programmes at TTV. On her personal hobbies, she enjoys reading romantic novels, seafood, water and music.
