- J.K. Rowling said that one of Harry's "fans" will die in the second book
Why Hagrid?
- On the Rosie O'Donnell Show, Rosie asked Richard Harris and Robbie Coltrane if they were under contract for all 7 movies. Harris said he was, but Coltrane said, "Sort of..."
- Hagrid is definitely a fan of Harry's and being a beloved character, J.K. would cry if she wrote about his death.
- Hagrid and Madame Maxime are probably going to giants, so there's a great chance Hagrid will be killed there if he goes.
Why Percy?
- Percy is very ambitious. In the third novel, he was reading a book called Prefects Who Gained Power. This may be ominous, but Tom Riddle was a prefect who gained power. Percy might go over to the Dark Side in order to be Minister of Magic. If that's the case, Voldemort will probably ask Percy to do something for him in return.
- He could be killed by Voldemort, because Voldemort no longer needs him, he cannot complete the task, or he becomes good again.
- Percy may not turn evil at all, but simply discover a dark plot within the Ministry or otherwise.
Why Ginny?
- Ginny will play a big role in book 5. Perhaps the big role is that she's killed and actions are taken because of it.
- Ginny is certainly a very big fan of Harry's and her death would matter to Harry and his friends.
Why Colin?
- Colin hero worships Harry, but that's about it...
- I can't really see any reasons other than he fits the description. He's not a super important character like Dumbledore.
