The "Horrible to Write" Death (cont'd) DISCLAIMER: Please do not write any angry emails protesting theories. Send in your counterpoint with proof and I'll post it on the site.
Warning! Spoilers Ahead! If you have any more ideas, please post them on the guestbook, include your name, and I will put it on the site!
- J.K. Rowling said that one of Harry's "fans" will die in the second book
Why Dobby?
- (This is Stacy's theory) "could Dobby be the one who gets killed? Voldemort probably knows he helped Harry, and Lucius Malfoy certainly pissed off when he inadvertantly freed Dobby..."
Why Neville?
- (Also from Stacy) "he's certainly a fan of Harrys. Not only that, but he's prone to trouble and not as adept at helping himself."
Again, true; he's not great at defending himself, but I think Neville will be the one who becomes a teacher.
Why Mrs. Weasley?
- Some people think that Mrs. Weasley will be killed because J.K. Rowling said that the death of her mother truly affected her life and her writing, so she may dispose of Mrs. Weasley, Harry's mother figure.
- However, she already killed Harry's real mother, so I don't think she's about to harm Mrs. Weasley. Besides, somebody has to be the mother in the story.
Why Mr. Weasley?
- Supposedly it has something to do with King Arthur.
- There was a theory on some website saying that King Arthur was killed by King Lucius, but I thought that was Mordred...
Why Dumbledore?
- He's the most powerful character in the book and killing him would send the wizard world into panic.
- It would be very sad to write since he's also the kindest person and Harry's support along with the Weasleys, Hermione, and Sirius.
- (From Jayde) I have a theories. I think is dumbledore who is killed. three reasons.1. at another website they pointed towards him dying.2. richard harris died.3. we all love him and harry really does too. what do you think?
- Good theory, Jayde :) Yes, many think that Dumbledore will die in the next book, and Harry would be devastated. Voldemort could decide to murder him first.
- MaryAnne says: As for Dumbeldore's death, I think it is inevitable. He has been like Harry's mentor and father figure, guiding him along and helping him battle evil in subtle ways (Think of how he hinted at helping Sirius Black escape in the third book, for example). In order for Harry to rise from under Dumbledore's protective wing and defeat Voldemort on his own, Dumbledore, sadly, must die.
