After that brief lesson on drain fishing, I continued my journey and arrived at Gurney Drive at 5.30 pm hoping to learn some dating or cuddling techniques from the more 'experienced' ones. Unfortunately, there was hardly anyone there willing to give me a free lecture. However, the hawkers were doing roaring business. I forgot that on Labour Day, you have to labour... your stomach. Anyway, I did learn something - never go dating or cuddling at 5.30 pm (at Gurney Drive at least).
I finally reached Midlands at 5.45 pm after 1 hour of walking. After having a 'chopped' chicken, I went window shopping and people watching. It's interesting just to observe people - the different faces, styles of dressing, the old, the young, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters... daughters... (okay, okay... just joking).
The Pernas Cultural Centre was also an interesting place with many expensive paintings. Some were stunningly life-like and detailed. Admiring them from afar is not enough. If you scrutinise them, you can see the amount of effort put into them. I like the painting of the leopard. Quite an amazing piece of art. You can even see, in detail, hairs of the leopard.
Well, that spells the end of my May Day escapade. To wrap up my sharing, someone once said, "One of the wonders of life is just that - the wonder of life". Another interesting quote is by Pavarotti, "Learning music by reading about it is like making love by mail" - which brings me to conclude by quoting John 10:10, "I have come in order that you might have life - life in all its fullness".
Take care and God bless.
Yours walkingly,
Bart
