An Overview
The Yoga Better Living Courses conducted at the Centre are aimed at helping you cope and deal with your life in a better, more effective way. Through understanding and putting into practice -
- the Yogic philosophy
- stress management and relaxation techniques
- body/mind awareness
- gentle exercises and breathing (asana and pranayama)
- meditation
- diet,
- hygiene (Kriya Yoga)
- self/spiritual awareness
you should be able to improve your health, self-understanding, confidence and have a better, more relaxed approach to life. An open mind and a desire to change are the two important pre-requisites needed for entry into the Courses.
As you can see the courses are not based solely on Hatha Yoga (the physical side), but also on the balance of the body, mind and emotions leading to the transformation of character and personality. You will also learn in the Courses, how to put Yoga into action in your normal daily life, have more emotional control and become aware of your thoughts and actions through a code of Yoga Ethics.
An on-going social contact with one and other is encouraged with a monthly Yoga-get-together held the last Saturday of each month. For more details see Other activities.
