Assignment 5, part 1
Coffee site Comparison
1st page
[For the Coffee Lover]
- Page organization:If you see the original site, you will notice that everything (title, image, text) is on the upper part or the page, which dosen't look so good and feels like the site's not compleated. The second version of this site, however, has changed this organization so that everything is in the center of the site and it gives a clear view.
- BG Color:The background color of the original site is a little bit dark so it doesn't really get along with the main text or the image.
- Links:The links in the original site which leads to the other pages are all listed in a order. in comparison, the second version's links are on the same line which seems more neat and makes you think that all the links has some relations to each other.
- Text:The text of the second version is fancier than the original site's text.
2nd page
[Coffee Lover's Test]
- Test organization: The test of the original site is listed in three different types; numbers, alphabets, circles. So it seems like the questions are divided into sections because they have different themes or something. Actually, the alphabetical ordered texts are related to question 3 and the three last question is the same part of the test. The second version reformed this problem.
- Image: The picture in the original site is located way to much to the right so although the picture is well related to the purpose of this page, it doesn't get any attention.
3rd page
[Quotes from Olden Times]
- Page organization: In the original site, most of the text and the picture is lean to much to the left.
- Text organization: The text in the original site doesn't seem to be well organized. It looks messy. On the other hand, the second version's text is fairly well organized but I think it would have been better if the name of the person who made the quote was placed on the next line.
- BG Color: The background color is too dark so it doesn't show out the text.
4th page
[Other Coffee Sites]
- Link organization: At last I found something I like about the original site! The link organization looks quite good because it first gives you the sites name in bold text and then gives you a short explanation about the given site. On the otherhand, the second site, that is introduced in the second version, has its link in the middle of the sentence so it seems a bit untidy.
- Introduced Sites: If you click on the sites that are introduced in the original coffee site, you can see that most of them do not exist anymore. This will surely make the visitor annoying.
[Other points]
- Body title: The title of the body in every page of the original site is incline to much toward the upper side.
- Links: In the original site the order or the links on every page changes, this is because it doesn't have the link for the page that is showing then. This might make the visitor a little bit confused.
