In large skillet, saute onion and green pepper in butter until tender. Add tomatoes, mushrooms, olives and oregano. Add ground beef if desired. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes. Place half of the cooked spaghetti in a greased 13x9 baking dish. Top with half of the vegetable mixture. Sprinkle with 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Repeat layers. Mix the soup and water until smooth; pour over casserole. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake uncovered, at 350* for 30-35 minutes or until heated through. Serves 12
1# ground beef 1 onion 1 green pepper 1- 1# can tomatoes 1 c. uncooked rice 1 can corn 1 8 oz tomato sauce 1/2 c. cheddar cheese 1 tea chili powder 1/2 t. garlic salt 1 tea. salt 1/4 t. pepper Brown hamburger, onion, green pepper. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, and seasoning. Simmer 15 minutes, uncovered. Meanwhile, cook rice as directed on package. Drain. Add rice & corn to meat mixture. Pour into 2 qt casserole. Top with cheese, cover and bake. 350 degrees - 30 minutes.
1/2 lb bacon 1 lb ground beef 1 sm chopped onion 1/2 c. ketchup 1/4 c. brown sugar 1 t. mustard 2 T. vinegar 1/4 t. black pepper 1-14oz lima beans(drained) 1-14oz kidney beans(drained) 1-28 oz can Bush Beans Fry bacon in skillet, set aside. Drain most of the grease from the skillet, add hamburger and onion, cook until browned. Drain any remaining grease after the hamburger is browned. Add the remaining ingredients and mix together. Crumble bacon and add to bean mixture. Pour into a large casserole dish and bake until for 45 minutes at 350. Variations: *Substitute black beans for lima or kidney beans *Substitute butter beans for lima or kidney beans *Add butter beans and/or black beans to the above recipe, if you add both kinds of beans, you may also want to add and extra 14 oz can of Bush Beans. *Substitute 1 T. Watkins Onion Soup Base or Lipton Onion Soup Mix for fresh onion. Or use fresh onion and Onion Soup Base.
