October - Seattle, Washington
Noted
Northwest racing driver, Kevin York, has announced plans
to compete in this year's 27th Annual Eight Hours of the
Cascades sports car endurance race.
Kevin
has liaised with Mike Helton's RTG, Ltd. professional racing
team for this classic event to be held October 26th at Portland
International Raceway, Portland, Oregon.
Kevin,
a USAC-winning road race driver from Seattle, will be one
of three drivers of the Grand Am Series-prepared BMW M3.
Team principal, Mike Helton and team regular, Steve Pfeifer
will share the driving duties.
"I
really enjoy the true teamwork atmosphere that sports car
endurance racing offers," Kevin remarked earlier this
week. "It differs greatly from the sprint races that
I normally compete in."
Additionally,
Kevin's YORK Motorsport has formalized its relationship
with leftlane digital (LLD), a Redmond, Washington-based
consultancy specializing in website architecture and design.
LLD's
principal, Miki Haraguchi, has played an integral role with
YORK Motorsport to build and implement its identity and
branding program.
To
celebrate and announce this relationship, LLD will be represented
graphically on the RTG, Ltd. race car in a bold move to
present it to a new audience.
The
Eight Hours of the Cascades is one of the United States
oldest, continuously running sports car endurance races.
It is the only one to continue use of the traditional "LeMans"
start.
Race
day is Saturday, October 26th with the race starting at
noon and running into the night to a conclusion at eight
p.m.
Spectators
are welcome. Tickets for spectator admission are ten dollars
at the gate on the day of the event.
