Intarsia is an art form that creates pictures using colours and grains in wood.

The pieces are cut on a scroll saw (some people use a bandsaw)
and are put together like assembling a jig saw puzzle.

Some of my Intarsia Attempts

This is my first attempt at doing a portrait in Intarsia.

This is a picture of my grand-niece and the pattern was taken from a school picture.

The oval is 10" wide and 12 ½" high.

The pattern for this picture of the Canada Geese was taken from a stain glass pattern book.

Finished size is 16"W x 15 ½"H

(That size includes the 1" wide walnut frame)

This butterfly was designed from a graphic from Corel clipart.

Finished size is 16"W x 13"H

I like to think of this little guy
as an ex-skier!

This is also a piece of clip art from Corel.

The little guy is 10" wide (at the feet)
and 10" high.
