Horsing Around In the Digital Age

Before and After

Here are a few examples of Before and After Photos. In the first example, the darn fence post got right in the way of the horse's leg. This was a wasted shot until the advent of photoshop and the computer darkroom.

In this next photograph, there's a building permit on the fence. Again - a wasted shot for all but the professional with expensive editing tools and darkroom techniques. Then along comes affordable digital technology and with a little cutting and pasting - the sign's replaced by the wall. Then rebuild the fence and the post lamp behind where the sign had been and there you have it - a whole different view of the world - Just like OJ's shoes, perhaps? :-)

In the final photograph you can see how one can combine different images to create a "reality" that doesn't exist at all. In this case, I took a water fall in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, a checkerboard from a kitchen floor in Rehobeth Beach, Deleware (Nellie didn't mind) and combined the two to create a "reality check".
