Arches National Park, with its over 1000 natural arches, has the highest concentration of these formations in the world. Visitors will be awed by the multitude of arches, giant balanced rocks, spires, pinnacles, and slickrock domes. Most of these structures are composed of soft red sandstone that was deposited 150 million years ago. The Arches Scenic Drive allows views of many of these wonders, including Delicate Arch, the most famous. One can also see Landscape Arch, 306 feet from base to base, one of the largest in the world.
