Guides - Mt. Malipunyo, Batangas
Editors Note: The bus route is the same as going to Taal -- south
towards Batangas but instead of changing to a jeep at Tanauan, continue
on to Lipa City. A 2-3 hour ride depending on traffic.
Mt. Malipunyo is also called Mt. Malarayat. It is located near Lipa
City. Same basic route as going to Mt. Maculot except that you stop before
Lipa and turn West. The full range mountain is visible in that area that
is neither Mt. Maculot nor Mt. Makiling is Malipunyo. It is almost
like a Mt. Cristobal. You ascend, pass through a saddle and then
go through an assault. You start late in the morning and before 3 p.m.,
you are in the peak. When I climbed it 2 years ago, the camp site is almost
like an Arayat, fully forested and thickly surrounded by other vegetation
with no view. The site only accomodated less than 7 tents.
Unless of course the course has changed.
