Southern Highlands (NSW)

The southern highlands of New South Wales (centred around the regional centre of Goulburn) contain a great variety of climbing, including NSW's premier limestone climbing area, Bungonia Gorge.

In addition to Bungonia, the southern highlands contain about a quarter of the world's trachyte climbing (at Mt Gibralter, near Mittagong). There are also quite extensive sandstone cliffs at Mt Alexandra (also near Mittagong), on a fine grained rock.
