Friends in Low Places (Philmont style)

Blame it all on my roots,
I wore hiking boots
to challenge a Philmont trek.

The last one to know,
the last one to show
that I was not ready for it

You could see the surprise,
and fear in my eyes,
on our first ten mile day.

But I made it through,
and then I knew,
it was worth all I had to pay.

Oh, I've got friends in low places,
where Pemmican bars and spreadables make it a paradise
and there is no ice.
Yea, I'm not big on social graces.
all I need is an oasis.
and my friends, in low places.

Now its been rough,
and I've had to be tough
but I'll be coming back.

Yes, a love I have found,
for this land all around
and carrying my life in my pack.

Oh, I've got friends in low places,
where Pemmican bars and spreadables make it a paradise
and there is no ice.
Yea, I'm not big on social graces.
all I need is an oasis.
and my friends, in low places.
