Dogwood Campsites

Dogwood CampgroundSan Bernardino National Forest, CA
June 1993, Dogwood Campground

This was the first time camping with my daughter.  The campground is located in the San Bernardino National Forest and is a pretty good campground.  Some sites are better than others as in any campground.  This particular site was well secluded, but didn't have a good flat spot to pitch a tent on.  It did have lots of shade though, which is a plus during the summer months.

My youngest one also had his first camping experience at Dogwood.  We had a different campsite which was flatter, larger but just as secluded from other campers as the last one.  We decided to take two tents this time; the new one that we had, plus our two person backpacking tent which my daughter and I had purchased in Sequoia National Park.  The campsite was good except for its proximity to Arrowhead High School.  The football team doing warm-ups on an early August morning was loud enough to wake the dead.

Next campground site.
