Bujzi
(Casatonis’ Magnum Mandible)
1981 - 1996
Missed dearly by owners Tom & Irene Lecki
A few words from Tom Lecki:
Our Bujzi (which means kiss in Polish--
because when we got her as a 8 week old pup,
all she did was kiss), was the last of the line of
Cass and Tony Giorinos’ Bull Terriers. Casatoni Kennels. We do not believe that They ever finished a dog but gave it their all, trying to get a Champion. They passed away within months of each other never to see that CH. Bujzi... never finished, or for that matter... never even started. Her pedigree though, piqued our interests. All the dogs in her background were in the ”Bully Books”, so we decided to see what she would produce.
Having only two litters,
the first gave us Ch Bedlams’ Buster Brown (Rocky).
Her second, with Catranas’ Eyeopener of Aricon,
surely would have thrilled Her breeders. The Goose
with the Golden Eggs gave us Sparky, Becca and
Brow-wow for the show ring. All three finished, with
Sparky and Becca getting the Silverwood Trophy and
Reserve White Bitch, respectively, in Ventura California. There had to be glee in Heaven that day.
For the next eleven years, "Bushy" was the Bedlam
Drill Sergeant, keeping the new pups in line when
their Moms’ wanted no part of the discipline routine.
Sure... She was a grouch at times, but then she was a
hug too. Her only tricks were a belly flop for a cookie
and sitting on command. Always there to follow me into
the bedroom to change clothes after work, she was a
constant friend, a permanent companion to Irene and
a household fixture. She screened all our new puppy
people from the beginning. Ya hadda get by Bujzi to
see a puppy.
After 15 years, she wouldn’t leave on Her own.....
and life was not fun anymore. The eyes had long since
clouded over, the hearing gone and She was a shadow of
her former self. She just stood, rather unsteadily,
and waited outside after "taking care of business".
Her last ride was in my lap and then a cookie from Her
Vet. A big long hug from us and she left us for
wherever we will all eventually go.
That’s about it. Sadly, She finally got
her page in BARKS (the publication of the Bull Terrier
Club of America). She wasn’t famous,
She wasn’t an Import but She was our first and
will always be our beloved........Bujzi!
