MEMORIAL DAY - 1999Anchor Point, Alaska
This picture was made between 11:00 and 11:30pm at Anchor Point, Alaska. It had been a rainy afternoon, so the sunset was not as colorful as it might have been.

We had guest, from Arizona up to visit and we were disappointed that the weather was so wet, windy & cold. They only got to go out fishing once, due to "small craft" warnings!
This is Bill & his son, Robert. This was Robert's first visit to Alaska.

Stephanie with her Dad, at the campfire. Stephanie was up last year and caught a 75 pound Halibut. She graduated high-school this year.

It was a cold group sitting around this campfire.

Debbie & Steve trying to stay warm at the campfire.

My granddaughter, Amanda, has really grown up this past year. She will be in the 10th grade next term.

Amanda & Stephanie with the labs.

Monday morning we woke up to a beautiful sunny day. So it was a nice trip home.
This is Turnagain Pass, where we had a bad avalanche back in March that killed six people. It is such a beautiful place, but I'm sure holds sad memories for the families.

Summit Lake, which still had ice, just one week prior to this photo.

Kenai Lake - we had planned to have lunch near here, but the campground was under renovation.

LUNCH TIME
We did not see much of Ralph & his family, as the weather was so bad and they were all recovering from a virus.

We had a lovely place for our lunch picnic.

We found a table near a lake with mountains in front and behind us.

We did not get to go camping/fishing but once last year we were busy moving. So this year Ralph & Michelle have a new camper and Steve and Debbie have a new boat.

Steve launched the new boat up at Finger Lake for a trial run.

STEPAHNIE'S LAST DAY
Debbie, Steve and Amanda took Stephanie up to hike on her last day here. It was a lovely sunny/warm day and they headed for Flat-top, a mountain just outside of town. Many people go here to hike and there are many well marked trials to follow.

Steve, Amanda & Stephanie - it seemes the girls collapsed here for a rest.

Debbie and Steve, also take a break

Stehpanie and Robert have both gone back to Arizona now. We sure did enjoy having them up for a visit, and look forward to the next trip.
