drum shop This is a sound wav from the first circle we drummed in. It was at the drum makers shop; several large rooms in an old warehouse in Asheville, NC. This town is a booming 'New Age Mecca' and many of the abandoned warehouses by the river have been renovated by artists and craftsmen. On Wednesday evenings all who wanted gathered to drum at this old warehouse by the train tracks and as you neared the building you could hear throbbing coming from the place. Several times during the night trains passed and I loved the sound of the drums and the train wheels (379K) blending together in the night.

Gordon's shop was always open to volunteers who gained experience and knowledge by helping him with some aspect of the drum making process.. This is Scott working on the cedar Spirit Drum I gave my son Matt.

Unfortunately this whole row of warehouses burned down and Gordon lost everything, including all of these drums! drums
