Many people have realized naturally that certain plants in their
yards and gardens attrack birds. Most people don't realize that there
is a whole bunch of trees, shrubs, annuals, and perennials that they can
plant in their yards to attract birds, and that will also make their yards
look beautiful.

If you are browsing for flowers or plants at a garden center, and they say the flower or plant attracts butterflies, it is a good bet it will also attract birds. Some like a coreopsis will attract birds with the seeds. But butterflies themselves and caterpillars also attract birds, so even if the flower/plant isn't one that has seeds that birds love, they will love the butterflies they attract.
