Jackson's First Week at Home
After 6 nights and 5 days in the hospital, we finally got to take our little boy home for the first time. Rusty's C-section required 4 days of recovery, and Jackson had a little jaundice so he was required to stay an extra day under the biliruben lights. It was nice to have so many nurses caring for Rusty and teaching us how to care for Jackson, but we really missed our own bed.
Steve took some time off from work and our new family of 3 got to spend some time together getting used to each other.

Rusty studies her little boy while recovering in the hospital.
Hmmm, who does he look like more?

Here Jackson shows off his famous "Plumber's Crack"
while attempting to breast feed in the hospital.
He's quite a show-off.

Jackson and mom are resting together in the hospital.
Rusty looks so healthy you can hardly tell she underwent
major surgery just a few days prior.

Our big boy showing off his manly chest.
He's relaxing on Rusty's lap in our apartment.

Jackson likes to sun his buns under the window
after his bath. Nothing like a clean, dry tushie.

Where did I get these long toes from, mom?
And when's this brown thing on my bellybutton going to fall off?

Look mom, I can already flash you a smile.

And here's another one! Or is it just gas?

About to take our first stroll outside in the baby bjorn.
Jackson fell asleep against dad's chest soon after.

Wave to the folks at home, son!

I'm tired from all that showing off. I think I'll take a nap with dear old dad.
