Thursday Aug 16th. Clearing the site to start work. The first 2 buildings had already been built
by local builders as accomodation for the workers, then for renting out. However, there
was a bit of mess.

Thursday Aug 16th. Unpacking the vital cement mixer. Notice the water supply - black tank.

Update from Matt on Friday 17th Aug: |
Well, we have safely arrived here in Nairobi after 21 hours travelling. We
have had some initial set backs, but we are all buoyant and looking forward to
really getting going, hopefully tomorrow. We have been clearing the site,
going to watch the blasting at the quarry, and getting used to each other!
...
The borehole is not going to be dug. Unfortunately the driller has decided
to leave Kenya and retire, and so we are going to have to cancel the wind
pump and go for a well and a hand pump. Also the architect is not around so
we are having to do new drawing ourselves.

Thursday Aug 16th. Clearing hardcore. The two-storey building was a "deluxe" house, with toilets/bathing
cubicles at rear.
|

Saturday Aug 18th. View eastwards along front wall to be. Kangundo road (C98) is 30m to the left.
|

Sunday Aug 19th. Chilling out upstairs.
|

Tuesday Aug 21st. Digging the foundations was really slow hard work. The Ugandans, on arrival,
gave such a massive boost it took just a few days!
