Stupid Caving Accident

  • Here in Cambridge we are extremely lucky to have three great nationally recognized climbing/bouldering areas all within a two hour drive.
    • Wharepapa South
    • Whanganui Bay on the western shores of Lake Taupo.
    • Piarere south east of Cambridge.
  • Access is the only real problem to climbing in this area.
    • Piarere is basically closed to everyone at present because of the farming communities concerns about OSH.
    • Whanganui bay is open. However cost and access difficulty detract from this experience. Personally I'd much rather give it a miss than pay for the privilege of a long walk.
    • All climbing areas at Wharepapa South are open. But again a bit of consideration for the landowners would help. Take away your Rubbish !!!
  • Eventually I'll have links to each of these areas but meanwhile enjoy what I have
