Our wonderful bundle of Joy has finally arrived! And I must say that
getting
her to our farm was about as hard as bringing my first bundle (my daughter),
into our life. We got Jenny from a local zoo about 30 miles from our house. Since
it was her first car ride I rode in back with her for comfort. I think she and I
agree that it was the longest trip in history. She was terrified of the
ride and was alittle nervous about her. However, by the time we finally got home,
we had become life long friends!
I had heard that donkeys are friendly, but I had no idea they were this loving.
Jenny runs up to me with a nice loud "hello" everytime I visit.
She then rubs
herself against my legs much like the family cat. She will follow me anywhere
around the farm, unless it's somewhere I want her to go! We tried to show her
the barn the first day to be sure she would know how to find shelter, but she
would have no part of that. I like her spirit, though.
In the short time that we've had her we have fallen completely in love and have
desided to expand our donkey herd. She is truely a wonderful animal!!!
