Fairbanks, Alaska
We've had somany chickadees invading our feeders this year that it's hard to keep them satisfied!

Here's Annie checking us out while we play with the birds.
During the solstice this summer, we decided to hike out into the White Mountains northeast of Fairbanks to try to catch a glimpse of the Midnight Sun. This is a view of the trail at about 9pm.

We set up camp on Porcupine Ridge, with a nice view of the Yukon Flats to the north. This picture was taken about 30 minutes after midnight on June 22. Unfortunately, we fell asleep shortly after this, waking up around 3:30 to see the sun exactly the same distance above the horizon, just more to the east.
