Ping and I were
very fortunate to go hiking for work! Here's Ping servicing the first of three rain gages.
On the right of the trail lay Poamoho Stream, which was probably dry at the
time of our visit.
As seen here, the trail is very wide and well established. About 80% of the
trail is like this. Near the summit, the trail starts to narrow and gets
a little more challenging (especially if it's wet).
At the end of the trail, there is a nice grass clearing with the Wai'anae
Range in the background.
Here is what I believe to be the stone memorial to Geraldine Cline, a member
of the Hawaiian Trail and Mountain Club who died tragically in a car accident.
At the overlook, you can see the majestic peaks of Pu'u Manamana, and Pu'u 'Ohulehule.
For a little excitement, I decided to climb down on a narrow section. There
were no treacherous areas on this trail, and I needed a little bit of a rush
to keep me alive.
