15th National Scout Jamboree

28th December through to 6th January 1998.

It;s been so let's look forward to the next Jamboree

Where was held? Greytown about one hour North-East of Wellington.
Is it the same as other Jamborees around the World? If you like sleeping in tents at the weather's mercy, with 6 - 7,000 other Scouts on site, then YES it is. All meals are prepared on each contingent's site with food received daily from the QM store.

Each contingent is up to 36 Scouts with a Leader/Scout ratio of 1 to 6.

  • What will Scouting Waitaki be doing there?

    Scouting Waitaki will be represented by about 12 Scouts, but specially for this Jamboree we will be combining with Scouting Waimate and Scouting Oamaru-Waireka. This presents an oppourtunity to design a special badge for the Jamboree. A completition was run and a composite basdge was the result. The contingent wil be traveling an the 27th of December to arrive at the Jamboree on the 28th. TeWai - the Contingent badge
