My biggest activity is bike riding. Alvin and I have a titanium tandem and have ridden in California, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Michigan, Ohio, Washington and many other states as well as Europe. This past winter we took the tandem to London. It was easier than I thought to ride on the "wrong" side of the road.
When I decide on a vacation location, I buy bicycle routes books through many sources: The local bike club, book stores, travel bureaus, Amazon.com and local Department of Transportation.
The books have led us to many beautiful bike trails. One of our favorites is in Rhode Island from Providence to Bristol 30 miles of a paved trail.
I also ride my bike to work every day year around. Each way takes about an hour to Brooklyn Heights. I love the dedicated bike path along side the Hudson river. I was very lucky this winter and did not miss one day of riding !
