Background

A new regulating body called ORCA has been formed to regulate and control outdoor
activities. Many activities covered by ORCA are traditional scouting activities and to be able to take youth members on these activities in future the instructor or activity leader will have to hold a qualification recognised by ORCA.

The WA section of the training team will be offering Adventurous Activities training to interested participants in 1999. Courses are based on two
levels , Basic and Advanced . Completing the Advanced level successfully permits you to be an Instructor in your chosen activity. Dates are listed in the training calendar as Adventurous Activities Training the activities
offered will depend on the demand and preferences of the participants.
