Motor detail, right side

Detail of the motor mounting, as seen from the right side. Notice that the outer bit of the motor output shaft has been turned down slightly by its previous owner. This was to accomodate a standard (imperial) size gear hub on the metric shaft. We had an adapter made which fit over what is left of the original metric shaft, and discarded the turned portion of the shaft. The adapter secures to the output shaft via 3 set screws, and provides a mounting flange for a standard chainring to drive the chain to the rear wheel, as well as a threaded section to accept a standard freewheel/cassette driven via a separate chain from the pedals.
