This "blueprint" describes the motor adapter which allows the motor shaft to be coupled to off-the-shelf bicycle drivetrain components. (A big thank you to George Sloan who generously redrew the previously sketched bits of this drawing!)
The adapter slides onto the motor shaft and is secured to the shaft by 3 allen-head set screws (the set screws are pointed and bear into "dimples" added to the motor shaft using a drill). A small bicycle chainring bolts to the adapter flange and a drive chain runs from it to the Sachs 7-speed rear hub. A standard 7-speed cassette with freewheel threads onto the adapter and a drive chain runs from the pedals to this cassette.
