Siwei I did write BREECH, I changed it after Jason posted his entry. Paiseh lar! I was deciding BREECH or BREACH, they both look so alike.
The security issue is somewhat settled. The ID and password will not appear in the URL now, thus if you go to History, you should only see the URL of the script and not the ID and password.
However, when you view the page's html source code, you can still see the ID and password. Which means the ID and password will be somewhere in the cache too. I can't do anything to avoid this. But I don't think it will pose too much of a security problem. I mean, who wants to infiltrate our system? We are not an online bank.
I have included a log out feature, but it doesn't help much. It only clears the memory. But when you click 'back' on your browser, you can still access the pages. The best thing to do is to close your browser. That will clear all the memory.
All the restricted pages are SSL encrypted. Suppose to prevent others capable of hacking to intercept the info. But again, who will want to do that....maybe for the thrill only.

I haven't found a solution to this yet. Apparently using SSL-encryption doesn't work, cos I tried that. In the meantime, I shall leave the system as it is. If I can't find a solution to this, I may convert the conv back to the original simple version.
VERY IMPTSome of us use the same password for all security matters. I urge you to change your conv password to one that is different from the passwords for your other important applications, like bank PIN, email password etc. This reminder is from Jason actually.

Hi!This is my first entry since dunno when..I din exactly chk the conv very often cos my netscape cant support very well..n i had diff reading n adding entries.. :PBut i'm now using IE in my office so its much better. Its been 1 week since I got here..and well..getting adjusted to the life here, which is actually quite boring. The dutch are very homely pple so most will just go home immediately after work.I'm sharing an apartment with 3 other guys..2 german and 1 greek..but havent met one of the german yet. It felt a little weird initially to be in a house full of male strangers but they are nice pple actually..very frenly and helpful. Yeah I know lar I don't exercise enough. But one good thing is that I'm slimming down over here. Mainly because I stinge on food (so ex here) and sometimes I'm too lazy to go out and get food, so just eat simple stuffs.
Siwei I'm in the process of setting up file upload facility, no promises that it will be successful though. It will be incorporated in a user login system, where each of us will have our own userid and password to login. Once you are logged in, you can add in/update your personal info, check for someone else's personal info, and choose to upload files. Hopefully the security is good enough to ensure that no one else can access our database.
In the meantime, if you need to upload files, can email to me and I'll upload for you.

Hey all! Weikai, I did watch the Annabel Chong story in the end.. and I think it's kind of strange. Oh, it didn't actually show her gang-bang thingee, it was more of a documentary about her life, though yes, there is plently of nudity in her life. And there was this part that was kind of sad, cos they interviewed her parents, who didn't know that she was a porn actress, and when her mum finally found out, she was crying in front of the camera and saying how Annabel (Grace Quek rather)must help her regain her dignity. And then Annabel Chong went back to the pron industry a year after that despite all her promises to her parents. I think she's kind of sad, like very poor thing like that, but I guess most people don't think so.

Anyway.. it's nice to see new entries again. for a while, I kept going back to the old one (I mean.. the transitional one.. whatever that was.. ) and it was stuck at Shiyin's entry about the mobile phone testing for a very long while, and then the past entries link wasn't working, but I didn't want to bug Weikai about it, cause I thought that he was busy settling in.
Well.. Another new semester (I know some people started school long ago... but it's only been my second week into school. But yet, it already feel like I've been running around forever. Seems like there are always a billion and one things to do. But other than that, life is quite good. =)

How did you guys spend your CNY? over here, there wasn't all that much going on lah. But a bunch of friends and I did get together for our own little steamboat on MOnday night. Ho no the genius is the one who wrote the book that I was reading. Quite comprehensive, and it's amazing a relatively thin book like this can teach so much. Anyone who read it will be able to do a guestbook like this.

Welcome to the new CONV!
I developed the script for this new conversations based on perl language, and since now that we have the control, we can change whatever we want, and the conv can be highly customisable.
I spent one whole day developing this script and referring to the guidebook and debugging the bugger. By the time everything is done I was too tired to come up with a new design for conv. Hence this simple one. But at least it has the ZEN look, simplicity can be nice sometimes.
This conv is still in the beta stage as I'm very new to perl and can't foresee any potential or hidden bugs that may occur. If you encounter any problems, drop me a mail ok?
There is a huge potential of what we can do to the conv. I am thinking of a setting up a database for us so that we can store our updated details in here, including phone numbers and addresses, so that it is easily accessible by all. But that'll be sometime later, until I go figure out the database part.
Oh yeah I changed the host to hypermart cos only hypermart offers cgi scripting. Anyway hypermart is pretty good, except for the stupid ads that keep popping out every few minutes

We got free SIM cards so u all can call us anytime... my number is now 96534699 for the next 6 mths ... we just did echo testing today... I am wondering how many of us had encountered fundraisers for the Indian Earthquake in the past few days. I was going for my classes today when I met 2 of them. I ignored them as I usually do and was a few strides past them when I heard my name being called. I turned around and realized that one of the fundraisers was my lab TA for the previous two semesters. I am not sure whether I was touched by the fact that the TA remembered me by my name or the fact that he was standing in freezing rain, trying to raise fund. I felt guilty for ignoring them. I urge everyone to spare a thought and offer your help for these fundraisers and their cause, if you meet any of them in the future. It really makes us feel how fortunate (but uncaring) we are.

Geez theresa you're rite, getting a phone line costs a bomb! The monthly subcription is fine, $17+. But getting a technician to physically connect a phone wire to my room will be a one-time charge of $190!! No no don't think I'm going to do that. Got to negotiate with my landlady to share her phone line at night, since she seldom gets calls at night.
I'm staying at a suburb actually, nothing like those nice greeneries or seaviews you guys can imagine. But it's alright, at least it's comfortable, and the sky is beautiful. Only complaint is the tranportation, a bit inconvenient, lots of walking to do. I'm staying with this divorced Indonesian Chinese lady and her daughter. Now don't let your minds stray ok, the lady has a boyfriend who comes over quite often and the little girl is only 7. But I must say they are pretty nice people, including the boyfriend. Brought me around the area so that I know which buses to take, and let me use almost anything in the house. Saved me a lot of expenses.
Work is fine too, just that no one gives me a second glance. Not because I'm Asian, cos many asians work there as well. More of because of my inexperience, cos I can't render much help to them. Got lots to learn in the meantime.
And nope, no racism yet. I suppose aussies are used to living with asians. Actually I found NZs quite nice too, in fact friendlier than aussies. Theresa probably you met a black sheep. But I thought what you did was pretty dangerous, unless of course it's broad daylight and there were people around.
Anyway, I should be getting my net connection sometime next week. Have a Happy Chinese New Year, guys. Take my celebrative mood if you don't have any, cos I don't need it, hehheh.

Hi all finally manage to get to email. I do not have net access at my room nor at the office (cos they have no free terminal for me yet). At an Internet Cafe now, spending $6/hr to email pple =).

CONV REOPENING!
After the sudden death of our conv, it is finally alive and kicking again. Well, not really kicking very well. This new guestbook service is kindly recommended by Xinyan, and I've found that it is sufficiently suitable to replace our old conv, except for some glitches.
The message area is handled by scipts as well, so it is only slightly customisable. Means I will not be able to manage entries as a first person, got to go through their system. And their system isn't working very well, some bugs, thus you can still see my previous test entry undeleted (can't delete it).
Also, the order of the entries is such that latest entries end up at the bottom. Not a very read-friendly arrangement. Too bad I can't do anything about it.
The add entry box is pathetically small. Since it is also handled by scripts, I can't customise it as well. So we got to bear with it.
This guestbook is good such that it does not have big banners and stuffs. But it is still pretty inadequate due to the bugs still present and the low configurability. I would urge us all to try to look for a more suitable guestboook while in the meantime, we shall continue conv with the limitations I mentioned.

There you are, weikai! I was wondering how the first few days were. What's the place that you're staying at like, and are you staying with other people? Getting a phone line was terribly ex, I had to be content with internet at work, and getting a cheap handphone. How's the people, at work, and just generally? No funny rascist things yet right? I was once on a street with these Japanese students nearby when this guy walked past and started yelling, "Who cares about these --- Asians! They have no faces and no names!" I was rather pissed off with him and actually followed him, with no real concrete idea of what I was going to do. All that transpired when he turned around was a good glare. I think I'll not be bothered at all now, one nut's ravings shouldn't be significant. Well, hope you're fine.

hahaha, yeah i realised how buggy the guestbook was after i emailed u, tweek. like, i messed up my account while trying to configure it (was trying to make the damn textbox bigger). in the process, i screwed up the script on their server, and thus had no way of changing it back. if u had gone to my add entry page, u'll have noticed this gigantic textbox. should i email them? but so mah fan, sigh. my account is so dead. yeah i'm still looking out for better guestbooks. i have an idea, mebbe we can switch website providers, if u know of any with good guestbooks. if we dun want to change the url then just redirect or something.
