A penny arcade is fun for everyone! Each den is responsible for bringing a game to the pack meeting that involves pitching pennies (or costs a penny to play). After the opening ceremony and any announcements, the dens set up their games around the perimeter of the room. Each boy brings 2 rolls of pennies (or more), a bag for loot, and a bag of wrapped candy. The den collects the candy and puts it in a prize bowl and mixes well. One boy and adult should be assigned to man the game at all times. The boys not manning the game may go to play other den games. Play until all of the candy or pennies are gone.
Ideas for games:
Pitch pennies into a muffin tin. Each cup has a number from 1 - 3 in it. If your penny lands in a cup labeled 1 you get 1 piece of candy etc...
Put a cup into a mixing bowl. Pitch pennies from 4 feet away. If the penny stays in the bowl - 1 piece, if it stays in the cup 3 pieces. You make the rules!!
Decorate oatmeal boxes and place them in a line. A penny in the first box - 1 piece, second box - 2 pieces etc...
Webelos make a catapult to launch pennies at a target.
Bears make Indian darts to toss into a trash can.
Put numbered lines on the floor close to the wall. Pitch pennies and they must touch the line to win.
BE CREATIVE, You can invent your own game!!!!
Each den keeps the pennies they collect for their den treasury
