The Apocrypha is a name given to 14 books found in some Bibles. It means hidden or secret. Apocrypha
The name Apocrypha is applied to those 14 books because the writer and origin of them are unknown. The writers of the New Testament quote from all 39 books of the Old Testament as inspired scripture.
They do not refer to the Apocrypha at all, so we reject those books as being uninspired. The books of the Apocrypha are: 1 Edras Baruch 2 Edras Song of the Three Holy Children Tobit History of Suzanna Judith Bel and the Dragon Parts of a book called Ester Prayer of Mannaseh Wisdom of Solomon 1 Macabees Wisdom of Ecclesiastes 2 Macabees The books of Nathan, Abijah, Gad, and Iddo are referred to in the Old Testament. Theses books are not regarded as inspired. Paul quoted from the heathen poets, but that did not make the poets inspired. and restricted to the terms of the Great Commission. They did not begin their work Immediately after receiving the Great Commission because they were commanded to tarry in
