Geocaching

Jenny and I have finally found a hobby we both enjoy doing together, Geocaching. It is very cheap, we get out of the house, we get some exercise, and we get a sense of accomplishment. Plus we can bring the dog with us.

We bought a Garmin eTrex Legend GPS unit. It was relatively cheap but still has all of the features we wanted for geocaching. It's a fun little toy.

In geocaching the cache finders often have a call-sign that they write down in the log book included in the cache. Jenny and I decided on the name Maui Mooners for our team name, a play on "Maui Honeymooners", for obvious reasons. Lassen, though he has never been to Maui, is also a member of our team.

I used to maintain a table of caches I have found and have not found, but it's getting too long to maintain. In order to see what I've done, you'll need to look up my username, fersman4, on the geocaching.com website.
