Beavers

Beaver Colonies are the first step that young people take on the scouting ladder and they cater for boys from 6 to 8 years old.

The Beaver section meets every monday night between 6.15 and 7.30. During these meetings the Beavers will play organised games and do crafts.Every month or so they go on day trips such as visits to the Zoo and nature walks. They will also learn the Beaver scout motto, prayer and promise, which is one of the requirments for their investment into the unit. There are also regional events from time to time. The highlight of the year is the National Beaver Day, when beavers from all over Ireland meet in larch hill for a fun filled day. At present there are 16 Beavers in the Colony and they are currently working on their Outdoor Award.
