Cubs

The Cub Scouts meet every thursday night between 6.45 and 8.00. They are open to boys between the ages of 8 and 10 years old. At the moment there are 18 Cubs in the pack. Recent outings include a weekend in Glencree Co Wicklow and a Regional fun-day.

Weekend in Aughavanagh Hostel Co Wicklow

A couple of weeks ago 12 Cub Scouts and 2 Leaders went to Aughavanagh Hostel for the weekend. On the Saturday the Cubs went for a hike up Lugnaquilla(they only made it up half way!) The weather was fantastic not a cloud in site and not too cold either! Along the way they also did backwoods cooking as well as building a bivie. A very enjoyable day was had by all.

On the sunday a few of the more hardy cubs went swiming in Kellys Hole(A lovely bathing place in Aughavanagh).The longest anyone lasted in the water was about 40 seconds(it was absolutly freezing!!!)

The weekend was very enjoyable for everyone!
