Troop 688 is a chartered organization of the Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary. Mission Statement Troop 688 exists to provide the opportunity for young men from the local area, together with their family, to learn responsibility, teamwork, integrity, and leadership through the principles and programs of the Boy Scouts of America. |
Outdoor Program | The Troop conducts an active and diverse outdoor program. The annual schedule includes car camping, backpacking, canoeing, rock climbing and long-term summer camp. Recent highlights include backpacking to Cedar Creek Falls, Colorado River canoe trip from Blythe to Picacho, snow sking at Cumorah Crest, mountian biking at Thomas Mountain, and summer camp at Camp Maluhia on Maui. |
Service Projects | One of the milestones of maturity is understanding ones position and responsibility within the local and global community. Scouting, and Troop 688, offers this lesson to its members as well as contributing to the community through service work. Troop 688 participates in projects of its chartering organization, the Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary, Eagle Service Projects of its members, and other programs of our local community. |
Advancement/Awards | Recognition comes in many forms. The adult and youth leaders of Troop 688 understand the importance of personal recognition and are continually looking for opportunities to highlight the accomplishments of its members. Scout advancement toward Eagle is one very important aspect of a Scouts career. The Troop currently has three Eagle projects in progress. |
