Kontiki 1998          

What is Kontiki? Each year the Gauteng Area in South Africa meet at Murray Park in Springs. Starting Friday 13h30 each team must build a raft according to the theme. By 12h00 on Saturday the raft must leave the shore with the crew. The raft crew are then not allowed to return to land for 24 hours. The raft must be built according to stringent rules set out at the official Kontiki web site. Each team is judged at various stages of construction. While the raft is out there are several competitions for the land crew to take part in.

We achieved an over all second place at Kontiki 98. Here are some Pictures of our Raft.The theme for Kontiki 98 was "The Circus Visits Kontiki." The Bush Hill Troop decided that their raft theme would be an historic circus wagon shown below.
