New Licensing Age
The age for a instruction permit is increased to 15 years and six month. The age
for a driver's license is increased to 16 years.
Mandatory Driver Education
Person under the age of 18 wishing to obtain a Class 1,2, or 3
driver's license must provide a Driver Education Student Completion Certificate
and a Behind-the Wheel Student Completion Certificate to the licensing office
before a road test will be scheduled.
Practice Driving
All drivers under the age of 18 applying for a driver's license must complete 40
hours of daytime and 10 hours of night time practice driving with a licensed driver over the age of 18 before a behind the wheel student completion certificate
will be issued.
