Chapter 6: Lothlórien
· Legolas vouches for Gimli when in Lothlórien, for originally the elves would not let him in. When they agree it is Legolas who must watch him.
· When the elves have to blindfold Gimli he wants Legolas to be blindfolded too (still rivalry).
Chapter 7: The Mirror of Galadriel
· When the Fellowship is in Lothlórien to stay awhile Legolas goes and wanders the elf realm, with Gimli.
night he did not sleep with the other companions, though he
returned to eat and talk with them. Often he took Gimli with him
when he went abroad in the land, and the others wondered at this
change."
(To help my story, Legolas does not wander on their last night in Lothlórien, rather he goes back with the rest of the company and it's true)
Chapter 8: Farewell to Lórien
· By the leaving of the wood Gimli has entirely changed his estimation of elves. He is now friends ('fast friends') with Legolas and they share a boat for the ride down the river.
· Gimli is confused and almost aggravated with his infatuation with the Lady Galadriel. It is Legolas he explains this to, almost as if asking for assurance.
Chapter 9: The Great River
· After Legolas has saved them from an evil winged creature Gimli spends much time complimenting and thanking him, even when Legolas tries to evade the compliments.
no, I don't think they're together yet. This is just the begenning of everthing.
