Episode 1
E-mail Ame's muse: Loki-kun

The train was slowing. Miles Prowler looked back on the journey. It was the first time he had ridden this far on his own. In fact, this was the first time he had been anywhere on his own. His parents had said that the school he was in wasn't good enough for his pontential, and that the Kinbotor Memorial High was the perfect place for him. Not enough that he had been skipped ahead, but now he couldn't even hang out with his friends, well friend anyway.

Dressed in grey shorts, a white long sleeve shirt, black shoes and wearing his glasses, the foxboy dismounted the train, carrying two cases and a backpack, all his worldly goods compressed ito such a samall space, he looked for the guy who was supposed to be meeting him, but as he expected, Amethyst [yes, this guy is basd on me, and yes it is pretty true to life] wasn't around. It wasn't that Amethyst was just some guy his parents had picked at random for him to stay with, the Prowler family, and the Luna family had been friends for generations, and Amethyst was a son of te Luna family, and a freind of Miles. However Ame (as he prefered to be called) was the white wolf of the family, literally. Both parents, and all his siblings were black, while ame himself was pure white.

"Hey Tails!!" this shocked the Miles, only Ame called him this, "Yo, foxyboy!" Ame stood infront of Miles. A pure white wolf, so unmistakeable, but this was the only familiar thing about him. Gone were the bland boring colours that he used to wear, now Ame wore tight purple jeans, and a collarless purple shirt,

"S'matter Tails?" the voice was over the top as always.

"Erm... purple?" Miles was still shocked by the colour.

"Sure, why not? I'll get your stuff." As Ame picked up the cases, Miles noticed Ame's purple nails [for both comfort and fashion], but he thought better than to comment on them.

"Sorry you had to wait, but i was er.. 'chatting' to the taxi driver. You mind if I go out tonight?"

"Er, what?"

"Bad idea huh? You're right, oh heres our ride. Sorry sweet, tonights off" the last was to the guy behind the wheel, "Just home, you know where I live"

"Sure. Call me?"

"'k." with this brief rapport over, Ame turned back to Miles, "When we get back to my place, I'll introduce you around, but keep the 'Tails,' Miles is sooo boring, and no using my surname, I dropped it, I'm just 'Ame' now, 'k?"

"Um... sure?" best not to argue, he'd be looking after te newly christended Tails for some time.


"Welcome home son!!!" Robotniks hollow greating rang around the room. He was a fat man in a red and black shirt, and plain black trousers."So glad the trip was safe."

"Hello father, I'm happy you finally let me come home," Horatio's sarcasm dripped, but his heart wasn't in it. The younger Robotnik was smartly dressed in a black buisness like suit. This response caused his fathers annoyace to rise.

"I sent you to that boarding school to get th best education any boy could ever want!" Ivo's face reddened as he said this, "Go to your room you ungreatful whelp!!"

"Yes father." a clipped response before he left. During the trip, Horatio had experienced strange dreams. In fact, they had started the day he knew he was to return home. Each time he would find himself standing beside a large temple like building, but as he got closer to home, a figure had appeared, a girl, well an echidna girl, talking to him about a strange connection between them that kept bringing them together in the dreamworld. The last dream was most vivid, having only occured the night before he had arrived at his fathers HQ building.

"Its good to see you again," the Echidna hadsaid dreamily. She was a peach colour and dressed in an almost tribal attire, that looked almost religious.

"So your coming home," the statement had shocked the young genius,

"How do you know that?"

"You told me last night," this was true, but still disturbing. If these were dreams then they shouldn't be able to run into each other, right?

"How are you talking to me?" he had asked this before, but the concept was still new to him.

"I'm not sure, but its only possible because you're getting closer to me."

"So you live in America?" but this was where the dream ended, as at this point he had been woken by his arrival at Kintobor Inc.

"I have to know who she is," this was his silent promise to himself, "I'm sure i know her, but how?"


"We're here!!" once more, Ame's voice was a harsh reminder that Tails was no longer in the safety of his hometown. The taxi stopped, and Ame and Tails got out. While tails went for his cases, Ame saw to the fare,

"How much?"

"To you? Free, but call me."

"Sure sweet." Ame gave him a peck on the cheek before leading Tails in to the apartment complex [needs a name].

"Mine's 312, this way." after a quick elevator ride, and a short walk, Tails found himself in an elaborate, but overly tacky, and very purple room.

"Thats mine, thats yours, kitchen, bathroom, dump your stuff, and prepare to meet the gang."

"Can i unpack and change first?" Tails was uncertain that he wanted to be shown around right away.

"Sure, take your time, heres your key," Ame tossed a key complete with fluffly keyring, "I'll be in 311, just across the hall, come over when you're ready, and lock the door after yourself, 'k?" without waiting for a response, Ame left.

"I get stuck with a wierdo, great!" Tails said to himself,

"Heard that!" shouted Ame, "Thanx!" then lauging he walked away from the door.

Taking his time to unpack, then changing, Tails examined the room. It wasn't as tacky, and wasn't purple, and it was bigger than his old room, and fully furnshed for him. Perhaps this room hadn't been decorated yet. Finally dressed in grey shorts and a short sleeved shirt, he was ready to cross the the hall to get to number 311. After a brief knock, and a wait that seemed to last forever, the door was opened by a blue catboy dressed in black jeans and a Sailormoon t-shirt.

"You Ame's mate?"

"Erm...Is he here?" the first glance had been wrong, only his head hair was blue, the rest was dark brown.

"Yup, come in." the catboy moved aside letting Tails past, then shut the door. The room he found himself i was much the same as he one across the hall, but not as tacky in decour.

"Hi Tails," Ame familiar voice, "This is, well, some of the gang."

"Tails?" a question from the catboy.

"You not noticed Loki? Show them, and don't look so scared." Tails turned slightly, showing where Ame got nickname from, his twin tails shook nervously.

"OH OH OH! that is sooooo cute!" a pink hedgehog girl in a red dress exploded towards Tails.

"Amy, you'll scare the poor boy!" Ame warned.

"As if staying with you hasn't terrified him enough," teased Loki. Ame made a face, the quickly said,

"Where are my manners? No, don't answer that! Tails, this is Loki," indicating the catboy.

"Hey."[this is a very loki response, Loki is based on my muse for this story, his name is, well, Loki, and most of what is here is really him]

"Amy," pointing to the hedgehog,

"I feel a makeover coming on... oh, hi," this semed to break her train of thought.

"And the beauty in the chair it Tikal. Hey sweetie, say hi to my good friend Tails." An unnoticed until now, peach echidna girl in a corner chair looked up,

"Wha? Oh, hi. You have two tails." then her attention returned to her cup.

"Another pearl of wisdom," said Loki before rturning to his Dreamcast game.

"Well, you've met these guys, whaddya wanna do next?" Amy's stare was making tails feel uncomfortable, so Ame's question could help him get out.

"Could you show me around station square?"

"Quick tour, then we shop?" Amy put in.

"Sounds good, Tails?" this from Ame

"Um... sure?"


"Last nights raid was useless!" a jet black hedgehog wearing well worn leathers examined a handful of gems, discarding them on the for of their warhouse home as if they were made of glass, not diamond. "I told you this is a stupid plan!"

"Think of a better one then Shadow." a metalic, or electric voice replied, "where better to find Emeralds than among other jewels?"

"That hasn't worked so far," said Shadow, "Why are we even listening to you anyway Metalix?" at this a robotic hedgehog approached him fom the shadows.

"I am in charge because you don't have the brainpower to think for yourselves, let alone make a plan!" before this could esculate into a full fight, a golden hedgehog in the style of worn leathers as Shadow got between them rambling,

"The gems are here but not the gems, emerald, but not Emeralds."

"Shut up Super Sonic!" both the other shouted at him.

"There are two other shops left, we hit one tonight, the other tomorrow." said Metalix.

"But if this doesn't work......" Shadow let the threat hang.


"And this is the Mall!" declared Amy, stating the obvious. The quick tour had taken in the school, the library, the casino, the amusement park and the monorail system. Tails was just happy to get a place to sit.

"And here come some of the Malls attractions." said Ame while waving to a red echidna wearing leathers, and a batgirl who was hanging onto his arm, wearing not much of anything.

"Rouge, Kunkles!" Amy ran to meet the newcomers, hugging both, with Rouge recoilng slightly.

"Amy, that little red dress never gets old," said Rouge dryly.

"Rouge, great belt, but you forgot the matching skirt." quipped Ame before Amy could embarass herself. Rouge made a face, while Knuckles obsereved Tails.

"Cute kid, but isn't he a little young for you?" asked Knux jokingly.

"This is my young charge, Tails, be nice, he's a genius."

"Rouge, We gotta get shopping, come on!" Amy dragged the resisting batgirl away, while she mouthed 'help me' over her shoulder to the rest of the group.

"Nice meeting you, gotta go rescue my girl, see ya," Knux waved, then folowed the girls.

"You hungry Tails? I'm hungry, lets go down to the beach for snacks." Tails was hungry, but also broke.

"I've got no money though."

"My treat, and we may see the rest of the gang." They left, and walked the short distance to the beach. As they sat down at a snack hut, Tails' curiosity overcame him.

"So is Amy your girlfriend?" Ame scanned the boys face, and saw nothing but honsety in his expression.

"Er... you don't know why i was... why i left town. huh?"

"You wanted to 'cus the town was so small?" Tails didn't really understand the question.

"Sure, oh look, out on the waves. See that blue guy?" Ame stood up and shouted "GO SONIC, GO!" and much to his delight, the hedgehog fell from the board he was surfing on, swam to the shore, ditched the board in a group of them, then ran to the snack bar, all while Ame ordered.

"Hey Ame. you buying?"

"Knock yourself out, this is Tails in case you were wondering." The young foxboy had been staring at sonic from the moment he had reached the beach [obvious coupe? it wont last, well maybe]. His blue quills matched the blue of his shorts, and a mixture of seawater and sweat beaded his bare chest.

"Hey kid," said sonic smiling, he then turned back to the beach and shouted, "Klonoa, Ame's buiyng!" His call was answered by a black furred rabbit boy, wearing a lound shirt, and even louder shorts. When he got to the bar he smiled at Soinc and Ame, then extended his hand to Tails saying,

"Hi, I'm Klonoa, and you are?"

"Mi... Tails," he shook the boys hand.

"Nice to meetcha."

"Heres our food." said Ame, as a portion was set before each of them.

"You ordered for us?" asked Sonic, "So sure we'd come over?"

"You always do, free food is such an attractive lure." Sonic and Klonoa's food disappeared qickly, while Tails only played with his, and Ame kept up the witless banter while still managing to finish first.

"I think we should all meet at yours later," said Sonic seriously.

"Same here," for once Ame's voice had no humor, "I'll tell the others, my place at 8:30" the mood lifted after this.

"I'll get back to the sea then," Sonic was casual again.

"Try not to wipe out so much, 'k" Ame's voice was normal too. As Sonic and Klonoa left for the beach, Ame said, "We should really get back too, Loki and Tikal will need feeding, and Amy may need a guide home."

"Huh? Oh yeah." Tails' eyes hadn't left Sonic throughout.

"Earth to Tails, come in Tails, lets go," A quick walk took them back to the mall, where Amy was easy to find under a large amount of shopping, but minus both Knuckles and Rouge.

"Where are your friends?" asked Tails.

"Who? Oh, I lost them somewhere, but I've been buying to make you over!" Amy's excitement was boiling over.

"This'll be fun!" choursed Ame.

"Oh dear," said a terrified Tails........


Dr. Robotnik had been studying his instrments for the past hour, with no success.

"Why can't I find them?" he blustered to the empty room, "Surely something with that much power would give off some sort of signal!" Robotnik wasn't used to his machines failing him, so reacted as he would if it was an employee, with anger.

Since he first heard the legends of the Chaos Emeralds, he had wanted to posses their power, but scanning the planet for them hadn't worked. Unknown to him most of his research and work had been seen by his son, who also wanted the gems for his own purposes. Horatio was witness to his father's latest failure, as he stood outside the console room, waiting for his fathers word to enter. Becoming impatient at the older Robotniks neglegence, he knocked and entered.

"What do you want?!" raged the doctor.

"You called for me." Horatio resolved to always give closed answers.

"What? Yes. This way." He lead his son into a meeting room and stood behind the head chair, "I'm putting a huge weight onto your shoulders. You will be the new public face of Kintobor Industries! Sit, you will conduct all meetings from this chair!" Horatio was shocked by his father's gesture, and immedeately thought the motives were sinister. He sat as he said,

"Thank you, father, but why?"

"People think that a new face is needed to take this company forward."

"I will try my best, and I will succeed." all thiswas bluster to cover the shock. This was the first even remotely nice thing his father had ever done for him. However the next statement shattered this.

"Get familiar with the paperwork, the board wil meet you in two hours."

"What? It'll take me longer than that to read this pile!"

"I don't care, two hours!" Not wishing to argue further, Horatio took the paperwork to his roms, and began reading.

"Now that the brat is out of the way...." Robotnik returned to his computer to try another scan.


On the third floor of Chao Towers [I said I'd get them in somwhere loki NYAA!!], Amy split from the guys and went back to her own apartment, taking her bags and the message that food would be ready for them all soon. She passed this on, then started sorting her shopping into two piles, her stuff, and the makeoner stuff. Tails was in for some shocks once he had seen all te outfits, but that would have to wait.

As soon as Ame got through the dor, he rushed to the kitchen and started cooking.

"So you meant what it when you said that they would need feeding, huh?" Tails asked.

"Yup, get paid for it, but only Amy from across the hall. However I wouldn't trust Tikal with any kind of cooking appliance."

"And Loki?"

"They 'adopted' him, 'bout six months back, I'm looking after him for Karma."

"So this is what you do right?"

"I have three families paying me to look after three different people. Amy, yourself and Sonic are all under my care."

"I cope hun, you still hungry?"

"I'm fine." Tails paused before saying, "About what Sonic said, you know, when you both got really serious."

"Oh, forget about it, it doesn't concern you."

"But..." seeing that Ame didn't want to continue with this, Tails stopped. It didn't take long for Ame to finish cooking, so Tails volunteered to get the other, and when they arrived Ame got serious again.

"Sonic wants a meeting tonight at 8:30, make sure you bring your stuff." Tails was left out of this again, but still wanted to know what was going on. He made a point to remember to ask Tikal or Loki later. The meal was accompanied yte witless banter of both Ame and Amy, and the main focus of it was Tails.

"After this, I get the stuff, then we play dress up," Amy said between mouthfuls.

"You get lots of stuff, or just basics?" Ame answered just as excited.

"Lots of stuff for lots of looks."

"Be afraid. be very afraid," laughed Loki.

"Are those really gonna do it?" Tails was nervous, he didn't like the looks he was getting.

"Its what she lives for, well, this and Sonic." Loki wolfed down his food.

"Did they do this to you too?" Tails wondered about the Sonic bit, but this was a pressing matter.

"They tried. In the end I made them buy me this stuff 'cus nothing suited." Hearing this both Amy and Ame made faces at Loki.

"What was that for?" Loki faked a hurt look.

"You didn't like what we chose, thats all." Amy complained.

"You looked great in that purple combo." from Ame.

"Or the smart wear." Amy again.

"But you said no to both."

"And made us buy you all that 'Japanamtion' stuff."

"Its anime!!" Loki shouted, having used their complaints as time to finish eating, "And I think its [curse you loki, but this must be said by you at least once] spiffy."

"Whatever." Amy had finished now. "I'm going to get the stuff. Give me a hand Loki?"

"Sure, it'll be good for a laugh." Loki followe Amy out into the hall. Tikal finished and Ame turned to the dishes.

"Now what happens?" Tails asked Tikal.

"Amy brings in loads of stuff, you try it on, show us and then we pick a look for you."

"Do I get a say in this?"

"Not really, unless you flat out refuse everything, at least three times." Tikal smiled as she said this.

"About this meeting tonight." Tails was feeling brave.

"It doesn't concern you, little one." Tikal was very lucid at the moment. Amy and Loki returne, Loki weighed down with bags, Amy buzzing wit ideas for combos, new looks, experiments.

"Okay, I'll set out some outfits in you room, tr them all, I'm sure you'll love them," Amy was in a world of her own again.

It took her twenty minutesto set out, and when Tails entered his romm, he was spoilt for choice.

"Come on Tails, we haven't got all day!" Ame's encouragement. After several outfits, that ranged from an almost adult style buisness suit in mid-grey, to faded blue jeans and a vest with a really bright yellow smiling sun on it, Tails noticed something strange.

"Er... Amy, are you sure all this stuff is for me?"

"Yep, why?"

"Er... there seems to be a purple party dress."

"What? Not your size?" Try it on and show us!"

"No way!!"

"Go on Tails, just for a laugh." Ame wanted to see this too.

"Don't worry, it wont go ant further." Loki was as intrigued as the rest. Tails gave in and put on the dress. It fitted quite well, but he wasn't sure if he wanted anyone else to see him dressed like this. The point soon became moot as Ame opened the door.

"Oh wow! now i gotta do your nails!" he laughed and beckonded for the others to look in.

"Yay! You could be like my big Barbie doll!" cheered Amy. Loki and Tikal were too busy giggling to comment, and it was at this point that Sonc walked through the door. Tails dived for cove, just in time, and Sonic missed the scene.

"Wha? That late already?" Ame looked at his watch.

"Nah, I'm just early. Anyone get in touch with Knux and Rouge?"

"Yup, I phoned them. They'll be here on time." Ame was responable as usual.

"Whats going on in the spare room?" Sonic noticed the commotion.

"Oh, a make-over, nothing important." Amy had almost thrown herself at Sonic as soon as he had entered. Tails had quickly changed back into his own clothes, and was about to join his new friends, when Ame cut him off saying,

"Sorry, private, we may have to go out, you'll be ok." and shut the door, isolating Tails fromthe proceedings.


At 8:25 Knuckles. Rouge and Klonoa arrived and, the meeting started. Sonic began by throwing down several newspapers. All had similar headines.

"The police are no good at this, they almost had the guys who did it, but couldn't hold them." Sonic was referring to the jewlry store robberies, "Ame, can you locate?"

"I'll try my crystal." Amethyst was a diviner[no, not just divine loking], he was sometimes able to locate people and lost items by their energy paterns. He fetched a map of Station Square, and a crystal pendulem, and set it slowly swinging over certain areas until it stopped over a specific street.

"Not quite what we wanted, but this may be their next target,"

"What d'ya mean?" Sonic was curious.

"Jewelry store on that street." Loki knew the city's layout better than some who had lived there all there lives.

"Lets get down there now," Sonic was in charge.

"Wait, I need my hammer." said Amy.

"Get it quick, Tikal, watch Tails." Tikal nodded as Amy ran to her apartment and returned wit a large hammer.

"Lets go!" she shouted like she was fully with it for once. The seven left at full speed, heading towards the street Ame had picked out.


At the jewelry store the SLA [we really need a name for these, job for loki!] had broken a window and were emptying the place. Shadow and Super Soinc puled everything from the shelves, while metalix worked on the safe. All three ignored the alarms, the police couldn't touch them, and no-one stood guard.

"Hows the safe coming?" Shadow was in a hurry anyway.

"Almost..." Metalix was uncertain. It was a to of the line safe, almost uncrackable, but Metalix had an advantage over most, he could hack systems directly.

"Hey Metalix, you finished?" Shadow again.

"No, why?" he had noticed something in Shadow's voice.

"We got a problem."

"The police? Get rid of them!"

"No, its a group of kids."

"Kids??" Metalix couldn't believe this, and left the safe to see what was going on. Outside as shadow had said were a bunch of kids,

"Get lost! This is a private robbery!" Super Sonic was almost bouncing as he said this.

"And we're here to break it up." Sonic replied confidantly.

"Lets get them!" Shadow put in.

"Try it." Loki assumed a fighting stance. The rest of the group followed suit and prepared for the ensuing combat.....
