Episode 9 That's no Lady, That's my Sister Seeing that the new arrival was unarmed, Ame didn't reinforce his field, but taking a closer look he saw who he was up against,

"Horatio Robotnik I presume?"

"Good, you know me. But I know something about you too," unable to make full eye contact, Horatio had to think on his feet, "Like that energy barrier of yours, it takes up massive power and great cocentration." Although the last was an educated guess, based on the beads of swaet appearing on Ame's forehead, it was true.

"I'll have to give him the Emerald," Ame whispeed to Luc.

"But you can't think he'll let us all go."

"I have no choice," Ame turned towards Horatio, "Once you have Koukan, we all go free, right?"

"I promise, I will allow you to go." Horatio smiled.

"Do your men make the same gesture?" Luc this time. Horatio's smile faded.

"By the look on your friends face, the point will soon become moot."

Ame had his eyes closed and was straining to keep control of the flickering shield.

"You win," he muttered, the field collapsed, Ame opened his eyes. This was the opening Horatio had been waiting for, he stepped forward, faced Ame and Luc, and made eye contact, almost.

"Don't let him get that Chaos Emerald!" Tikal's voice made everyone look her way.

"I have to trade it for Loki," Ame called to her.

"No! If he gets any of them, then who knows what damage he can do," she walked towards Horatio, "You should get out of here now."

"You do exist! Who are you?"

"Go!" Tikal orderd again.

"We're leaving, now," Horatio gave in.

"But Horatio..." Fenrir started. Seeing everyone else leaving without question, he remembered his boss' influence, and followed quietly.

"Tell me who you are," Horatio demanded. Getting no answer, he left angrily.

"I am Tikal," she whispered as he left.

"How did you do that?" Luc asked.

"I'm not sure." She was shaking. Ame steadied her before asking,

"Where's everyone else, and how did he know you?" Then thinking again, "and how did you break my seal?"

"I got Amy to stall them, I knew they'd just get in the way, the others are long stories."

"We can talk later, right now, we need to find Loki," Luc reminded them, he felt responsable.

"Of course, sorry." Ame agreed.

"Lets see, that guy came from over there, so that should be where Loki is, right?" Luc lead the way to the room. Opening the door, Luc and Ame entered, Ame saw that Loki was naked, so quickly turned to push Tikal away from the frame, to save them both embarassment.

"Luc can help him," Ame covered, "It's not really nessacary for all three of us to be in there"

"Huh? But I wanted to make sure that he's okay." Tikal sounded more concerned than she meant too, but Ame failed to pick up on it.

"Is that the guys? We'd better tell them that we have it coverd so they don't come charging in here, guns blazing."

"Sure, I'll get on it."


In the side room, Luc had Loki mostly untied, but had removed the gag first.

"What happened to you?" Luc asked him.

"Some of the guys beat me up, after they tied me to the chair. Before they managed I got the better of them."

"I saw, but why are you naked?"

"I guess they were just sick or something." Fully untied now, Luc helped loki get dressed, before starting to appologise,

"I'm sorry this happened," Luc shook his head.

"It's not your fault," Loki responded.

"They were only after me. If I hadn't gone stalker on Ame, you wouldn't have been in the cab."

"So it was bad timing, forget it, that's what I'm trying to do."

Luc knew Loki was being overly defensive, but didn't have time to question further as Ame stuck his head around the door, then seeing that Loki was fully dressed, opened it fully. Behind hi was Tikal, who smiled until she saw his face. Her reaction was mirrored by Ame.

"I'm getting you to a doctor, who knows how serious those cuts are. No arguements.


Luc had driven Ame, Loki, and Tikal to the hospital. The rest of the guys returned to Chao Tower. After a ten minute examination, Luc was pronounced perfectly fine. While waiting for the doctors to finish with Loki, Ame had sat thinking. Turning to Luc he said,

"I don't think it's safe you living by yourself."

"I'll be fine, I doubt they'll try it again."

"I'm not so sure. I think it's best if you move in with me."

"What? are you sure?"

"Very, and if you think it's just a a way for me to see you every day... well it is. But it is safer."

"Then I'd love to." Luc kissed Ame until a nurse arrived.

"Er... are you the legal gaurdians of," she checked her sheet, "Loki Valhalla?"

"That's me." Ame stood up.

"I'm Anna, his nurse. We've checked him over, and Dr. Scott [more rocky horror to come.] would like to see you."

Following the nurse, they were lead to a roo where Loki, Tikal, and a doctor waited.

"I think it would be better if the lady wasn't here." the doctor suggested.

"We'll be in the cafe," Luc said, taking Tikal away. Once they were gone, the doctor started again.

"The external innjuries look worse than they are, and should heal quickly. However while checking the limp, we found some internal that are more worrying."

"Internal? Loki?" Ame was confused.

"It looks like something has penertrated the anus causing some damage, but he wont give us any details of how it could have happened."

"You said I was fine. Can I go now?" Loki was impatient.

"Your guardian will have to sign a few forms. I'll get themn for you." with this, Dr, Scott left.

Turning to Loki, Ame was worried.

"What happened?" trying to gauge from his expression was better than pure guesswork.

"I was tied down and hit." Loki' face was blank.

"You were raped?" Ame kept his voice low. Getting no response, he knew he was right. "This is big, you should see a counceller or something."

"Why? We can't report this to the police, Horatio owns them... I'm going." Loki stormed out, passing Dr. Scott on the way.


"So your finally moving in with him?" Tikal had responded to Luc's news in am almost nonchalant fashion.

"What do you mean 'finally'?"

"Well everyone knew it'd happen sooner or later, even Amy [so it must be glaringly obvious]," both laughed at this. Loki had walked over to them and interrupted.

"What's the joke?"

"It's good news really, Ame and I are finally moving in together."

"Good for you. We gonna get going?" Ame had appeared in the entrance.

"Um... sure." Luc had seen his boyfriend, and walked over to him.

"You really okay?" Tikal asked Loki while they were alone.

"Yes." A closed answer, as they walked over to their friends.

"Is Loki okay?" Luc asked quickly.

"Kinda." he answered.


"So what happened?" D asked as the guys got back. Mina and D had been watching Ruby, so were left out of all the action.

"Nothing." sonic answered.

"Huh?" from Mina.

"It was all sorted by the time we got there." Tails explained.

"Thanks to the efforts of Amy, but somehow Tikal was there." Rouge gave Amy a snide look, she was still hung-over, and wanted to vent some anger.

"She must be a good runner?" Amy said, trying to look innocent.

"So where are they now?" D asked.

"Loki looked pretty bad, so they went to get him looked at." Klonoa filled them in.

"Hope he's okay."

"Looks like none of you are going to school again," Sapphire bought everyone back to reality, "Hope Ame doesn't get into trouble over it."

"He's head of the P.T.F.A., he can get out of any trouble we get him into," Rouge said casualy.

"How'd he manage that?" Paz asked.

"Last one quit as he moved out of the area, Ame took over since he loves running things [like peoples lives lolh]."

"Wow, talk about an active interest." from Sonic who didn't know.

"I don't know about the rest of you, but I gota get home." Knux admitted.

"I could do with an hour or so sleep, so I'm of to bed." Amy left for her apartment.

"Same here," Klonoa agreed, "Can I use your apartment Gany?"

"We'll be rushing around, but I'm sure Ame'll let you use his room." D told him.

"He wont, and I'll join you." Tails said going to the door.

"And I'm..." Sapphire began.

"Taking me to the park!!!" Ruby shouted.

"Taking Ruby to the park," he finished, "And so are you 'Paz'"

"I'll get my board, and write Ame a note."


Mr. Blank [wonder if he has a first name.] had been treated in the Kintobor infirmery with his men. All were recovering when Dr. Robotnik walked in. News of several of his men reporting injured had reached him.

"I heard we had some men out of action. I'm surprised to see you among them," he boomed.

"I was hurt while surving your son, sir." Mr. Blank replied.

"Oh, doing what exactly?"

Unable to divulge anything due to Horatio's influence, Mr. Blank simply said, "I wasn't privy to all the details of his plan, but needless to say, it didn't go as well as it could have."

"What a shame." Curious now, he forgot too repremand the team. "I think I'd better have a word with my son." Leaving the ward, Robotnik had a better idea. Still heading towards Horatio's quaters, he decided to talk to Fenrir. His son would tell him nothing, employees could be threatned.

A smile crossed his face. His son was living up to all his expectations, if only he could be controlled, but that could maybe come later, and,if needed, extreme controll was always an option.

Robotnik saw Fenrir walking along the corridor, carrying a black leather folder, dressed in his Kintobor uniform.

"Ah, you're Horatio's aide, correct?" he asked.

"Yes, sir." A quick response.

"And you know all of his meetings, scheduels and plans, I suppose?"

"Yes, sir"

"Then you know what he has been doing today?"

"Yes, sir." The doctor was infuriated by Fenrir's attitude.

"What has he been doing today?"

"He attended a progress meeting this morning, and has been revising targets since."

"Then why did six of my best men become injured?"

"I don't know, sir," which was true, he wasn't there to see how Loki did it. "Listen here, boy! I employ you, I can make sure you never work again! Tell me what he has been doing , NOW!" He finally snapped.

"No, you listen. I am employed directly by Horatio. You have no executive control over my position [only Horatio will control his position]. Threaten all you like. Now, I have to go." he walke away, leaving Robotnik speechless.


About to leave the hospital, Loki was still quiet, and this was upsetting Tikal. Luc and Ame were holding hands, but something caught the wolf-guy's eye.

"You go on ahead, I'll make my own way home," and then he walked off before anyone could stop him.

"Strange guy," Loki commented.

"Uh-huh," Luc smiled, continuing to the car park.

Ame had followed a gurney down a hall, and was waiting outside a private room for the nurse to leave. Once the room was empty, Ame pausd slightly, then entered. Seeing the patient up close, he gasped,

"I thought it didn't really happen. I couldn't really have done this to you, could I?" He got no response, but he didn't expect one. On the bed was a black hedgehog in a coma. The name on th chart said 'John Doe', but Ame knew he was reponsable for Shadow lying there.

Seeing someone in the room, the nurse from earlier entered, and smiled at Ame.

"I thought you left with your friends."

"I saw Shadow here, and had to come in."

"Shadow? So that's his name. Are you responsable for him too?"

"No," Ame denied, before realising what she meant, "no, he's just a friend of a friend."

"Do you know a next of kin? We really need to inform them."

"I think he's an orphan. Just bill me for his costs, I'll give you some details."

"Okay," Anna smiled, "He's lucky to know someone like you. This way please." Taking one final look at Shadow, Ame whispered,

"Lucky? Sorry," before following.


Amy, Sonic, Mina, D and Rouge were just leaving as Luc's cab pulled up.

"Hey, Tikal," Mina called over, "How is everyone?"

"They're all fine." she answered.

"You look upset, I know!" Amy stated, "Retail the rapy!"

"Amy decided to thrash your Dad's credit card. You coming?" Rouge asked.

"Er... I don't really..." she looked at Loki.

"You got no choice," Amy bundled her back into the cab, "Luc, to the Mall."

"I think I should get a minibus." Luc joked. "You okay if we go Loki?"

"Sure, I'll rack up some game time." Loki didn't turn to answer, and walked off.

"Bye!!" Amy and D were hanging out of the windows, waving, as they drove off.

"Hey wait!" Luc ran after the slow moving car, and pushed Rouge out of the drivers side, onto the passenger side.

"Bye," Loki said to himself, before he walked up to his apartment.


A quick drive took them to the Mall, Luc drove off, looking for Ame, while the girls and Sonic did some shopping.

"C'mon, Mina, just one date." this was the tenth time Sonic had asked.

"When hell freezes over, pigs fly and... and..." Mina faultered.

"When we get pink snowdrifts?" D said.

"Next blue Moon?" Tikal said absently.

"Whe Amy does something intelligent?" Rouge offered.

"Those'll do. Why'd we bring him anyway?" Mina asked.

"As a beast of burden." Amy laughed.

"Why wont you date me?" Sonic tried a new aproach. "Am I too good looking? To cool? Too great?"

"Too male," D whispered.

"Huh?" from Amy and Sonic.

"I wont date you because I'm also looking for a girlfriend." Mina sounded annoyed, as if she'd said this too many times.

"Oh, good answer. Erm..." Sonic was at a loss.

"He probably wants to know if he can watch." Rouge laughed.

"In here!" Amy said, dragging Tikal into 'The Space'.

A shop assistant immedeatly approached Tikal, as she was the only one not looking at the racks.

"Can I help you?" he asked with a rehersed tone.

"Can you help me what?" Tikal responded vacantly.

"Can I help you out?" the assistant was confused.

"No thank-you, I just came from out, and I want to shop 'in' first. You wont get many sales if you keep wanting people to leave." Having lost interest in this now, she wandered over to a rack, while the assistant stood still for a few seconds to work out what had happened. This happened seceral times in different shops. In 'After', it went.

"Can I help you at all?"

"My names Tikal, not Atall." leaving another helpful worker in a daze. Finally in 'Z&X',

"Can I help you find what you want?"

"I don't know what I want, so if you can find it, that would be a big help as I wouldn't have to look for very long."

D and Amy were shopping together. Snatches of their converstaion showed that neither were very good at thinking.

"Wow, half price. If I buy two, I save twice a much!" from Amy.

"And if you buy three, you save even more!" D's response. And also,

"I had some shoes like that, but I can never find them." D was eyeing some white strappy sandals.

"They're just like the ones your wearing too." Amy answered.

"I know!" Sonic just put up with this, and got more bags to carry as they went on. Rouge and Mina had ditched the rest of them at the firs possible opening, to go off and eye up the local talent.

"Aren't you seeing someone?" Mina asked aftr Rouge seperated from a complete stranger.

"I can look, can't I?" Rouge answered, "As long as I don't touch."

"And he was touching you, not vice-versa, right?"

"You learn fast." she laughed.

Half an hour later, Amy found the two of them and dragged them to a taxi stand. With Luc being unavailable, they had to pay for a ride home.


Luc hadn't found Ame, so had done a little shopping of his own. Driving around for a bit longe, he finally saw his boyfriend walking out of a cobblers. Unusual as Ame didn't wear shoes. Pullng up he called,

"Need a lift?"

"Thought you had a few days off," Ame replied.

"That's buisness, this would be a pleasure." Ame got in, and kissed Luc. "Got something for you." He reached into the back and produced twelve purple roses. Handing them to Ame he asked, "So what were you doing in there, it's not like you have any shoes that need repairing."

"He cuts keys." the wolf-guy held out a set,"These are for you."

Taking them, Luc was speechless, so just hugged Ame. They sat in each others arms for a few minutes,before Luc drove them back to their apartment.


Horatio sat alone. He had dismissed Fenrir and turned off the security cameras. His head spun at the earlier encounter. The girl from his dreams was real, he had met her but done nothing about it. She had said to leave, and he had. He could start searching for her, but that hadn't worked when he was looking for Loki.

Loki, a smile crossed his face when he thougt about that name. He had had fun with him, but again, had left there when he had gone. This meant that the girl, Loki and Amethyst all knew each other, so maybe he coud use this to his advantage.

Finally he thought of Fenrir. The catboy had been very willing to join in with his activities with Loki. He he had given a suggestion to join in but... a knock at his door roused him from his thoughts. He unlocked it by remote, then called,

"Enter," his father stormed in.

"Why didn't my key work?" he almost exploded with rage.

"I changed the locks for privacy. How can I help you?"

"What were you doing today that resulted in five of my men being injured?"

"Trying to increase buisness. It's not your concern."

"What! I own this company!"

"And I run it, my way." Horatio hid his anger, but it matched his fathers. "And another thing, your aide was very disrespectful to me. See that he gets whats coming to him." the doctor said as he left.

"Of course," Horatio said when alone again, "He'll get a raise."


The girls and Sonic got back at around the same time as Ame and Luc.

"Hey guys, Tikal told ud the good news," Amy said, "We need to celebrate."

"We could go up to the roof for another party?" D suggested, "We just need to dump this stuff." They all headed upstairs, and broke off into three groups. D and Mina went to their apartment, Amy and Tikal to theirs, Ame, Luc, and Sonic to Ame's. Getting in, in complete unison, both D and Amy said,

"Oh my gosh, she is soo dumb!" before ditching the shoppingand heading up. Tikal saw Loki just staring into space, so sat next to him.

"We're going up to the roof, you coming?"

"I'll stay," Loki was on the defensive again.

"It could cheer you up?"

"No thanks." Tikal hugged him for a while.

Ame and Luc kissed when they got to their door, then Luc picked Ame up once the door was open.

"Luc, what are you doing?" Ame laughed.

"Carrying you over the threshold," Luc was gigglng too.

"That's marriage," Sonic told them.

"Spoilsport," Ame called back to him.

"Gods you're heavy," Luc said dumping Ame on the sofa. Getting up, Ame pouted and said,

"Fine, I'll lose more weight. But first, one of my nails have chipped," he walked over to his bedroom, opened the door, saw Tails and Klonoa kissing, so closed it and called back, "But you guys needn't wait for me, just go straight up.

"Sure." Luc and Sonic left. Poping his head around the door again, Ame called in,

"Party on the roof, and hand me my violet vision please."

"Er... okay. Sorry." Tails handed him the polish, looking very embarassed.

Outside, Tikal was waiting with Sonic, so Ame dragged them up to the roof, giving Luc some time with Loki.

"Suppose Ame's told you what happened." Lok said.

"No, I just got your stuff." Luc replied.

"Thanks."

"Having a party."

"Heard."

"Got you something extra too," he threw a bag to Loki. "Come up, and sorry again. Opening the bag when Luc left, Loki smiled briefly when he saw several boxes of Pocky.


On the roof, several bottles of drink had appeared, but Luc and Ame made sure that no-one got drunk. The elevator doors opened, and Loki stepped out.

"Sorry I'm late." he said weakly.

"Good to see you," Luc smiled. Music was playing, so Tikal grabbed him for a dance.

Ame walked over to Mina and asked,

"You feel like coming out later. Were off to the Pink Clover [bad joke, don't ask] to celebrate till the early hours."

"So you know. I guess someone said somethin'?"

"Naw, gaydar," Ame laughed, "Well? You could do with a girlfriend, and I know most of the people there."

He didn't get an answer, as Sonic suddenly wolf whistled. Looking up, everyone saw a stunning cat-woman leaving the elevator with Tails and Klonoa.

"Who's the sexy lady?" Sonic called out.

"That's no lady, that's my sister." Loki replied.

"Felica Valhalla," she said smiling seductivly, "A pleasure to meet you all."
