"Doctor D"- Dehart Automotive Group
Seven years ago, Russ Dehart had a vision: to protect customers from the huge fraud problem in the auto service business that he had seen so widespread. In 1999 he opened up "Doctor D", an automotive service shop that is honest, fairly priced, and professional; offering top notch customer service. At "Doctor D" you can have more than just your oil changed. Other services include Auto Repair,Tires, Body Damage, and Paint for all makes and models. If you are in the market for a new or used vehicle, he can help you with that as well. With many certifications under his belt, Russ is ASE Master Certified, Saturn and Cadillac Master Certified, Aldata Certified, and has a number of GM Specialty Training Certifications (too many to list). He has also received the Rotary Club Award, received the AAA State Winner 1st Place for Florida Award and was a VICA State Finalist. His guarantee to his customers: "I will stand by my work for 12,000 miles or 12 months, whichever occurs first. All parts are warranted by their respective manufacturer. Used parts have very little, if any warranty at all. I have been in this business for 20 years and I assure you that I use the best quality parts that are available. My favorites are Genuine AC Delco and Motorcraft. As you can understand, some parts do fail, but with the quality of parts that I use, it's rather rare." "Doctor D" has a very user friendly website, www.dehartauto.com. Here you can even schedule your own appointments, sign up for a newsletter, coupons, and service updates. As far as business hours, "Doctor D" says: "For the most part I am open Monday through Friday from 9 am - 5:30 pm. Due to service volume, I may adjust hours accordingly -sometimes Saturdays, etc. During sick or vacation times, I will always leave a sign on the door and a message on the voicemail unless it's an emergency". Russ is a single father of Steven (15), Jeremy (13) and Alexis (7). As a full-time father who worships his kids, like many of us he knows what life is like with children, busy schedules and how "things come up". He offers before and after hours drop off and pick up, convenient payment options, and accepts most insurance. Located in the Fruitville and I-75 area, back by Fruitville Library, and also accessible from Palmer Blvd, "Doctor D" is located at 6281 East Sawgrass Rd, Sarasota, FL 34241 Phone: 941-371-1670. Early Childhood Center - Come Explore A New Beginning!
Exploration, bubble blowing, dancing, running, jumping, painting, squishing, and squashing…all of this and more is waiting for you at the Early Childhood Center Church of the Palms. The ECC was established as a Mom's Morning out preschool in the early 1960's; the original program consisted of two classes of 3-4 year olds. Over the years it has "morphed" into a learning environment that provides Full-Time care for children ages 6 wks to 5 years and a Part-Time Preschool program for children ages 2, 3, and 4 years old. Our child centered philosophy sees the importance of children learning through play, and recognizes and values each child as an important individual. The classrooms are set up in learning centers to encourage children to make choices and learn independently while having limits set by room arrangement as well as teacher direction. These centers create an area which children are introduced to the fundamental building blocks for reading, writing, mathematics, and social skills.
Our program is accredited by both the National Association of Child
care Professionals (NAC) and the Florida Gold Seal Program. Special
features of the program include a food program, low ratios, chapel
program, and computer enrichment instruction. The ECC is currently
enrolling for the Part-Time Preschool 07-08 year. New Preschool
classroom configurations include a Monday - Friday, 9-12, 4 year old
program (extension available from 12:00-2:00 pm); MWF, 9-12, 3 day
program; and a TTH 9-2 program for 2 ½ year olds who are
potty trained. For more information on
class pricing or to schedule a tour of our program please call Carol or
Lorrie at 941-921-7892.

Signs in One Day
Signs In One Day is family owned and operated; and they've been in business for over 17 years. Opened in 1990, Signs In One Day has not only been building signs, but also servicing signs in the greater Sarasota area.Originally they opened in a small 800 square foot showroom, which housed a saw table, production table, a materials rack, two computers, and a desk. They set out to make sure that all business owners grabbed the attention of their patrons with new age graphic design and vibrant colors.
Signs In One Day has created a clientele that is unmatched anywhere. From originally servicing small businesses and retail stores, they now offer the same high quality service at discounted prices to developers, hotels, restaurants, small and large businesses. as well as local and national franchises.
Now in their new location at 4118 Bee Ridge Rd for two years, they have over 4000 square feet, with 3 production tables, 3 graphic designers, multiple material rooms as well as storage; plus a two man service crew with two bucket trucks on the road everyday. They now offer full digital prints, lamination, permitting and service as well as logo design, and have grown to over 20 employees.
Owners Ken and Gayle Frank (YML member) have enjoyed their success over the years and have given back to the community that has been so good to them...from donating signage for fundraisers, to their partnerships with The Young Mother’s League and other not-for-profit organizations.
Their motto "High Quality Signs at Discounted
Prices" can be credited to the friendly, family-like
atmosphere they have built. Stop in for a set of magnets for your car,
a banner to welcome someone home or a free estimate on any of the
services or products they offer. You’ll be greeted with a
smile and treated with courtesy, just like you were family. And
remember, "A business with no sign, is a sign of no
business."

Infant Swimming Resource
Recently, an interview was conducted by Bob Hite from News Channel 8. The theme of his monologue was ...what ten minute errand can you run daily that could save your child's life?... Infant Swimming Resource, a survival swimming program, is that 10 minute errand. ISR is the product of more than 40 years of research and development by Dr. Harvey Barnett. 144,634 infants and young children have gone through our program with more than 4 million safe and effective lessons to our credit.Babies 6-12 months are taught to rotate from a face down position in the water to a back float to rest and breathe until help arrives. Acquiring this survival float typically takes 3-5 weeks.
Children, as young as one year, can be taught to swim and rotate onto their backs to float, rest, and breathe and then flip back over and continue swimming to safety. This skill is called a swim-float-swim and typically takes 4-7 weeks to accomplish.
Each child's lesson is individualized - one on one with the instructor so students can start any time, typically on Mondays. The parent or caretaker watches every lesson poolside. Students attend short lessons (10 minutes) every Monday-Friday (five lessons per week) and will have the same time slot each day. Much is learned in this short but very challenging private class. Daily attendance is crucial for the learning and retention of skills.
ISR Instructors are the most highly trained and qualified instructors in any swimming program in the country and must undergo strict re-certification testing annually. Each instructor is academically trained and tested in areas such as child psychology, physiology, anatomy and behavioral science to provide the safest lesson possible for your child.
Your child will learn by the application of operant conditioning and behavioral psychology during each lesson. Each child is treated as an individual and each lesson is uniquely tailored to your child’s specific needs. Your child will interact with the aquatic environment and will be reinforced for the activities that solve a given problem. High retention rates are associated with this type of sensori-motor learning. Children learn to become aquatic problem solvers rather than trained floaters or swimmers.
