Hey, Omane
DiMorte, here. I've decided that, for a while, I'm just going to be posting
chapters of stories. They will, I hope, be just as good as the short stories,
but this way, I can keep you all in suspense. Here goes.

Because I didn't fully understand my powers, I got out to the islands of Hawaii without using them. I stowed away on a ship headed south and waited out my stay in one of the life boats until I felt a huge, disturbing bump. I jumped out of the lifeboat to see what everyone was screaming about and saw them all running around like chickens with their heads cut off. I clenched my fists tightly, fearing the worst, and opened them again to run and find the captain to see what was the matter. When I couldn't find him, I closed my eyes and said the first thing that came to my mind, "I wish I knew what was wrong." No more had the words come out of my mouth than I saw the problem with my own eyes. The mast of our ship had been nearly knocked over by the front of another. "Great," I mumbled to myself, "I've not even gotten close to mastering my powers and look what happens." I climbed up the mast and shimmied up to where it met the other ship and pushed as hard as I could. With an amazing burst of strength that didn't feel normal, I managed to push it away from the mast. I looked over the part of the mast that had been nearly severed and saw that there wasn't really anything else I could do. The other ship sailed away and the people on the ship surrounded me as I was sliding down the mast. I was lifted onto the shoulders of a muscle-bound sailor who reminded me of my father and paraded around the ship. By the time we reached Hawaii, we were all exhausted from staying awake for the rest of the trip. It turned out that the captain had fallen asleep and not heard or seen the other boat. I jumped from the ship and landed firmly on the ground before going to explore the island for any sign of the water mage. I came across a hut about three stories high after walking around for about an hour and opened the door only to find that it was some kind of an inn. I walked to the bartender, a rather rotund but good-natured looking man and asked, "Do you know of a girl about my age with blue hair?" "Oh, you must mean Kendra," he grinned, widely. "She is my daughter and is in her room, now. What do you wish of her?" "Just to speak with her. Can you tell me which room is hers?" You just go through that door," he pointed to his right, "and it will be the first door on the left that you come to." "Thank you, sir," I smiled and followed his instructions into the hall. I went through the door he suggested and found an entire hall full of doors. After the last door, there was a set of stair that obviously went to the next floor. I resisted an extreme urge to explore the next two floors and stepped to the first door on my left and knocked only to be answered from the other side, "I'm not coming out, right now, papa." "I'm not your papa, I'm just seeking a conversation with you." The door was opened by a slender, graceful girl of about fourteen. Her eyes were soft, china-blue like her hair and she looked as if she had rather clumsy big feet. That was all I got from this girl, however, as she shouted at me, "Has my papa sent you to get me out because I refuse to. I will not come out for..." she stopped at my puzzled look. "My papa has not sent you for me, has he?" "No. May I come in and talk?" "Of course." She stepped aside so that I could come into her room and sit down on her bed. Her room was quite small but what was left of the walls other than the door and single window on the opposite wall, was covered edge to edge with pictures of sea animals and mythical creatures of the ocean. She sat down beside me and said, "I'm sorry if I was rude to you." "No it's quite all right. I needed to ask you, do you know anything about the Faerie Eight?" "Only that they were great mages of power." I stuck out my hand for her to shake and said, "My name is Destiny." She just stared blankly at my hand and said, "I'm sorry I thought I heard you say that you were Destiny." "Ah, so you know their names." "Only just the one. Are you really Destiny?" "Are you really Kendra?" "What do you mean? I am nothing special. You can ask my father." "Do you know of the seven elements; fire, ice, water, light, dark, forest, and mind?" "These I know. Why?" "I have reason to believe that you are of the power water." "But can you prove such nonsense?" I thought especially hard to think of what had provokes me when I'd uses my powers. When it had come to me, I pinched her arm considerably hard. A gust of water came from her hand straight towards me but I stopped it with a wave of my hand. "Proof enough for your highness of the water kingdoms?" "Can we go now, without my father knowing? I don't wish for him to know that I am leaving." "If you want, but I'm not exactly sure that I can teleport quite yet." "It doesn't matter. Anyplace is better than this one," she replied. "Well, if you insist, I guess I could try." I took her hand and said, "Vu Khalida!" With the words, I felt a sudden pull behind my navel and in no time at all, we were in the center of the forest where I had created a town and a few small hand-made tents for us to sleep in. There were eight tents in all, for the eight girls that would soon live here. I was assuming that with all of our powers combined, we would be able to build a more suitable living area. In the center of the tents was a gigantic tree in which was carved the inscriptions, "Gus vji iohjv vu veli vjios vsai gusnt, vjiz natv siapovi vuhivjis." I wasn't sure why I chose this tree for the center of the camp but it just sort of spoke to me. "All settled in?" I asked Kendra. "As settled as I'll ever be. How, Destiny, did you know where to find me?" "Ah, you see I found this book in a library once and haven't had the chance or the stomach to return it. It tells of the names of the seven girls and where to find them, as well. The next to find would be Lucricia, of the power light." "And where might we find her?" "Well, I was going to try and develop my powers a little more before I try anything complex but she will be found on a continent that is warm all year round but floats in the ocean." "There is a continent that floats in nothing but ocean but I am not sure if it is warm all year round. My papa had been there and that was where he met my mother. It started with the letter 'A'. Austria? No... Australia! that's it! It was called Australia." "I know the general direction of Australia but I don't know if I can get us there," I thought hard. "From here, we have to go that way," I pointed southeast. "I am glad that you know of coordinates because I am not very skilled with a map." "Neither am I but I know almost exactly where we're going." My eyes were closed and I was trying to exercise a homing-device like power that was continually zeroing in on where we needed to teleport. "I've narrowed it down to a three mile radius but we'll have to search the whole area so that we can find her." "Well, a three mile radius is better than the whole country, isn't it?" "I suppose that you're right. I'm just hoping that trusting my instincts isn't as foolish as it sounds." "I am only hoping that we don't miss that three mile radius by miles in themselves," Kendra remarked. I looked at her as if to say, "Sarcasm?" but instead, I said, "You know what, my friend Kendra? I have a much better idea. We can train our powers and I'll teleport us without any hitches this time. Deal?" "I would appreciate that. Hitches in teleportation make my stomach churn." "Well, I guess you'll just have to get used to it if we've any chance of finding the other six, because I can't change the feeling of teleportation." "If I have anything to do with it," a mutated voice said from behind us, "neither of you will be here to find the other girls." |

Hello, everyone. I'm Destiny Tisegope and I will be posting the most useless inventions on the face of the planet right here. This week's invention is the "Tibrella"
Name of Invention: Tibrella
Creator: This usless invention was created by one Miss Drysedale, from Tokyo, Japan.
Words from the Creator's Mouth:
I just got tired of going out on a nice sunny day and then having it rain,
me without an umbrella.
This invention is composed of one woman's dream to wear a tie but also have an umbrella handy for emergencies. Not the most vivid fashion statement, but it's one of those examples of 'dressing smart.'
