Conceal and Reveal

Conceal and Reveal Image

Get the straight story on concealer. Are these fact or fiction?

1. The lighter the shade, the better it will cover. FICTION. Go for a shade that matches you and your foundation best. Having trouble getting a match? Just blend a bit of your foundation with your concealer.

2. The more you blend, the better it will look. FICTION. You'll end up blending it right off your face. Use a light touch for best results.

3. You should always apply concealer really close to the lashline. FICTION. That will actually make your eyes look smaller than they are. Start about 1/8 inch away from the lashline.

4. Using a magnifying mirror with concealer is a great idea. That way, you can be sure to cover the flaw. FICTION. You'll accidentally "overapply" your concealer since you can't see your whole face, only the flaw.
