Most of these photos were taken from 1957 to 1964, spanning 'Trane's most creative years, the majority of which were spent at Atlantic Records. Most of these photographs appear in The Heavyweight Champion: John Coltrane, the complete Atlantic recordings, an incredible seven disc compilation that features Giant Steps, My Favorite Things and other key albums as well as a disc of unreleased alternate takes.
