Seasoned Fern (Kosari Namul)

Ingredients:
7 oz of Kosari (dried fern: from a Korean market), 1 Tbs of chopped garlic, 1 Tbs of chopped green onion, 1tsp of sesame seed, 1tsp of sesame seed oil, 1 Tbs of soy sauce for soup or 1 tsp of plain soy sauce

Directions:
  1. Boil dried Kosari for about 30 minutes.  Turn off the heat, and soak kosari in that same water for more than an hour.
  2. Wash kosari with cold water, and cut out 1/3 of the stem (not head!).
  3. Season kosari with chopped green onion, soy sauce for soup or plain soy sauce, sesame seeds, and sesame seed oil.
  4. On a heated skillet, put some oil, and stir fry seasoned kosari. Pour about ½ cup of water and stir-fry until most of the water vaporizes.

Fern (Kosari) is a good source of fiber.  When you get kosari at a Korean market, usually you get a bunch. Kosari can be used for making Spicy Beef Soup(yuk Gae jang).
