Back at the bandroom, instruments, stands and chairs were being packed away.  The band rehearsed at Tardis Chapel and so had to go through this rigmarole every week.  Rodney seemed unusually willing to help with the music that night, so he and Chas were collecting in the pieces that had earlier been handed out.  The younger band members had to wait for their parents, who were expecting the rehearsal to finish at its normal time. 
The chapel was soon restored to its former state.  Wayne and Gemma's parents had arrived and so they headed home.  Chas, Glen and Spaniel started to make arrangements for a game of pool at "The Scud".  Charlie decided that he'd do a check of the store room.  He went in and discovered that there was a Bb bass out of its case.  Charlie thought that this was somewhat strange as he had been the only bass player there that night.  The instrument's case seemed to have disappeared altogether!
He went back to relate this news to Russ, who was in charge of the instruments.  Russ commented that this was very strange but that they'd have to speak to one of the bass players to see if they could ascertain why this should be. 
Charlie decided that it would be appropriate to do a quick check of the chapel, inside and out to ensure that everything else was in order.  It had stopped raining by now but was getting quite dark.  The outside toilet was locked as it should be and the back gate was also closed.  Charlie proceeded to the front of the building.  To his surprise, he discovered the missing case in the alley between the vestry and chapel buildings.  The top of the case was resting on something that had been put inside.  Charlie opened the lid fully and gasped.  Inside lay Katrina's body!
